He led the conference in blocks per game, ranking 13th among all players in the country. The 7-footer was among the notable early entrant prospects who were still weighing their options ahead of the withdrawal deadline at 11:59 p.m. EDT on Wednesday. He will now turn pro after playing two years at Northern Illinois and one year at Penn State. Konan Niederhauser, born in Switzerland, has had a tremendous predraft process, earning an invitation to the combine from the G League Elite Camp earlier this month. He averaged 12.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in four scrimmages between the two events. The 22-year-old also tested well at the combine, measuring in with a 9-foot, 3-inch standing reach and a 7-foot, 3 1/4-inch wingspan. He also recorded a 33 1/2-inch standing vertical jump, the second-highest mark among all participants this year. Konan Niederhauser is now considered a second-round pick. He has the opportunity to improve his stock in team workouts and interviews, with four weeks to go until the draft.

Yanic Konan Niederhauser scores 24 points and Penn State defeats Minnesota 69-60
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Yanic Konan Niederhauser scored 24 points, Penn State had a dominant 17-minute stretch in the middle of the game, and the Nittany Lions defeated Minnesota 69-60 on Saturday. The Gophers led 24-15 after Lu'Cye Patterson's 3-pointer with nine minutes remaining in the first half but they managed just two free throws by Dawson Garcia the remainder of the half. The Nittany Lions scored the last seven points and led 28-26 at halftime. Konan Niederhauser scored 14 points in the half. After the Golden Gophers missed their last 13 shots of the first half, they made their first four after halftime and led 35-33 with 17 minutes remaining. However, they went the next 6 1/2 minutes without a point, missing nine shots and falling behind 46-35. Penn State's 13-0 run was led by Konan Niederhauser with six points. Spanning the two halves, the Nittany Lions allowed 11 points over a 17-minute stretch and in large part maintained a double-digit lead until the final 3 1/2 minutes. Minnesota then made six free throws in an 8-0 run to get within three points at 60-57 with 1:44 to go. Penn State then finished off the win when Ace Baldwin Jr. and Nick Kern combined to make six free throws followed by a dunk-and-one by Konan Niederhauser. Baldwin had 10 points and seven assists, and Freddie Dilione V also scored 10 points for the Nittany Lions (15-13, 5-12 Big Ten). Femi Odukale had 15 points for Minnesota (14-13, 6-10) and Garcia had 11 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Patterson, Mike Mitchell Jr. and Isaac Asuma scored 10 points each. Penn State has back-to-back wins after losing seven in a row. Minnesota hosts Northwestern on Tuesday. Penn State visits Indiana on Wednesday.

February 22 - Yanic Konan Niederhauser scored 24 points to guide Penn State to a 69-60 Big Ten victory over Minnesota on Saturday in Minneapolis. Konan Niederhauser had seven rebounds and blocked five shots to fuel a strong defensive effort by Penn State (15-13, 5-12 Big Ten), which has won two in a row following a seven-game skid. Ace Baldwin Jr. and Fred Dilione V each chipped in 10 points for the Nittany Lions, although the duo combined to shoot 4-of-16 from the field. Femi Odukale scored 15 points on 4-of-4 shooting to pace Minnesota (14-13, 6-10), which shot just 33.9 percent from the field and 5-of-23 from 3-point range. Golden Gophers leading scorer Dawson Garcia pulled down 10 rebounds but was limited to 11 points, eight under his average, on 3-of-16 shooting. Minnesota trailed by 14 with under eight minutes to play before Odukale scored eight points to help the Golden Gophers get within 60-55 with 2:45 to go. Isaac Asuma then added two free throws to make it a three-point game. However, Penn State sealed the game at the foul line, as the team went 7-of-7 from the stripe in the final 1 1/2 minutes. Konan Niederhauser provided the exclamation point with a dunk in the waning seconds. Early 3-pointers by Garcia and Mike Mitchell Jr. helped Minnesota jump ahead 8-2. The Golden Gophers led for most of the half until Penn State caught up at 26-26 on a three-point play by Dilione. Konan Niederhauser led all scorers with 10 points in the first half, and he added eight points in the first six minutes after intermission as Penn State went ahead 42-35. Meanwhile, Minnesota couldn't find a way to crack the scoreboard. After Garcia's jumper put the hosts ahead 35-33 with 16:55 remaining, the Gophers went more than six minutes without a point. During that stretch, the Nittany Lions went on a 13-0 run to go in front by double digits. February 20 - Yanic Konan Niederhauser and Zach Hicks each scored 19 points as Penn State ended its seven-game losing streak in emphatic fashion Wednesday, thrashing visiting Nebraska 89-72 in University Park, Pa. D'Marco Dunn chipped in 17 points for the Nittany Lions (14-13, 4-12 Big Ten), who shot 60.7 percent (34 of 56) from the field and missed only one of their 14 free throws. Ace Baldwin Jr. pitched in with 10 points, eight assists and six steals. Nebraska (17-10, 7-9), which had won five of its previous six games, was led by Connor Essegian with 20 points. Andrew Morgan authored a solid performance as well, shooting 8 of 8 from the field en route to 18 points. Brice Williams added 17. Penn State wasted little time taking charge of the contest. After Nebraska scored an early bucket to tie it at 2-2, the hosts scored the next 12 points. Konan Niederhauser scored three straight buckets at stretch of that burst before Hicks' putback made it 14-2. The Cornhuskers' Williams hit a 3-pointer with about 13 minutes left to draw the visitors within 17-8, but Nick Kern made two free throws on the other end, giving the Nittany Lions a double-digit lead that they maintained for the remainder of the game. Dunn's layup shortly thereafter pushed the lead to 15 for the first time. Then, with about four minutes left in the first half, Hicks drained a 3-pointer to create a 20-point margin, 39-19. The Cornhuskers chipped away slightly, but Freddie Dilione V and Baldwin each made a bucket in the final minute to send the Nittany Lions into the locker room with a 50-27 lead. Konan Niederhauser led Penn State with 15 points in the first half. Nebraska scored 13 of the first 19 points of the second half, but Dunn responded with five straight points and Baldwin added a bucket as Penn State grew its advantage to 63-40. The Nittany Lions led by as many as 26 points down the stretch.
