Mardi Gras weather update: Still looking dry!

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Except for a little rain possible this Saturday night and Sunday morning, we will not have any real weather concerns through next weekend. What can we expect for our two big Mardi Gras weekends? Krewe of Centaur: The weather for this Saturday's Krewe of Centaur parade is looking dry, but chilly. We will probably see a partly to mostly cloudy sky. Parade temperatures will probably begin in the lower 50s. They will drop through the 40s during the parade. Prepare to bundle up some. Krewe of Gemini? Next Saturday's Krewe of Gemini Parade will probably have some warmer weather. As of right now, it still appears that we will stay dry with a partly cloudy sky. Temperatures will begin in the low 70s and end somewhere in the 60s. Krewe of Highland? The weather will also cooperate for next Sunday's Krewe of Highland parade, although it will be a bit cooler. Expect a partly cloudy sky next Sunday afternoon with temperatures in the low to middle 60s. Models are still indicating a little rain will be possible next Sunday & Monday night, so keep that on the radar in case this disturbance arrives a little sooner. 10-Day Forecast: Your 10-day forecast still shows that the ArkLaTex can expect a rather quiet period of weather next week. Rain will be possible over much of the area on Saturday night and Sunday morning. Dry weather will return on Sunday and could linger through all of next week. We may close the period with a chance of rain next Sunday night and Monday. Temperatures will finally return to near or above normal levels. Highs will warm into the 50s this weekend, the 60s on Monday, and the 70s during the middle of next week. Overnight lows will begin the period in the 20s. They will warm into the 40s and 50s next 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.
