India is likely to take delivery of the frigate Tamal by the end of May, marking the arrival of the last imported warship built by Russia under an ongoing defence cooperation programme.
According to News 18, citing sources, the frigate is slated for commissioning into the Indian Navy by June and will feature a robust suite of weapon systems, including BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles and anti-submarine rocket launchers.
Constructed as part of Project 11356, Tamal is an upgraded Krivak III-class frigate designed for blue-water operations.

The vessel is equipped to handle multi-dimensional warfare, including air, surface, underwater, and electromagnetic threats.
