Policeman accused of killing Farah Kartini claims trial

PETALING JAYA : The policeman charged with the murder of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah claimed trial at the Shah Alam High Court today.
Alif Monjani was charged at the Kuala Kubu Bharu magistrates' court on July 26 last year. However, no plea was recorded as the case falls under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
Alif, 27, claimed trial today when the charge, framed under Section 302 of the Penal Code, was read to him before Justice Julia Ibrahim, Bernama reported.
The judge then fixed July 15 for mention of the case.
Alif was represented by Nur Aida Zainuddin and Aida Jaafar.
Farah Kartini, who was reported missing on July 10, 2024, was found dead at an oil palm plantation in Kampung Sri Kledang, Hulu Selangor, on July 15.
The 25-year-old was reported missing after delivering a rental car to a customer.
Alif, a lance corporal, was stationed at the Slim River police station in Perak at the time.
