World is watching new Bharat, says Governor
The entire world is watching the progress happening in India, ie, new Bharat, Governor R.N. Ravi has said.
Speaking at the 10th anniversary celebrations of Sri Sevugamurthi Goushala Trust and 108 goushala puja and yagavelvi festival at Singampunari in Sivaganga district on Thursday, he said the world was learning from the new Bharat. 'By 2047, we have to become fully self-reliant and developed for the good of the world,' he said.
Lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi for showing an alternative way to the new Bharat, the Governor said some years ago, the country had set a goal for itself to achieve sustainable development. Now, be it in agriculture or health, the nation was ahead.
During COVID - 19 pandemic, some developed nations had developed the vaccines and sold them at exorbitant prices. But, India not only produced the vaccines and used it for the people free of cost, but also offered them to many nations.
Many nations started listening to India and stopped instructing India. The western model of growth and development had proved disastrous that even India became poor. After 2014, the country steadily improved due to the alternative model of development and today, India was one among the fastest growing economies in the world.
The Governor said private participation in people's efforts to protect cows here manifested spirituality and bravery. From time immemorial, many stalwarts such as Velu Nachiyar and Marudhu Brothers from this land (Sivaganga) had shown that they would not hesitate to give even their lives during challenges.
Sacrifice, spirituality and bravery had been synonymous with Tamil Nadu. 'Even today, they are resonating across different parts of the State. The warriors from this land would always be an inspiration to youngsters,' he said.
Appreciating the services of Sevugamurthi Goushala Trust, he hoped that the tradition of protecting and gifting cows continued. 'Like the farmers' who nourished the land, the goushalas in the country have taught us to nourish cows. The tradition should be carried forward by more and more people as governments alone cannot protect cows,' he said.
The Pahalgam terror attack, which was followed by Operation Sindoor, was the new normal for the country. 'The Indian forces eliminated all the terrorists hideout in PoK and the adventurous actions of Pakistan were nullified. This is the new Bharat,' he added.
Madurantaki Nachiyar of Sivaganga Samasthanam presided. The 46th Pontiff of Kundragudi Math, Sri Ponnambala Adigalar, offered his blessings.
