Al-Sudani and Rashid stress the need to find radical solutions to financial obligations with the Kurdistan Region

Baghdad – INA Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid stressed on Saturday the need to find radical solutions, within the framework of the constitution and the law, regarding the financial obligations between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq. The Prime Minister's media office said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid." The statement added that "the meeting reviewed the general situation at the national level, political and economic developments, and the progress of implementing government programs." It indicated that "during the meeting, the need to find radical solutions, within the framework of the constitution and the law, regarding the financial obligations between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, was emphasized through steps stipulated in the constitution, the budget law, and the decision of the Federal Court, and the importance of approving the oil and gas law." The statement continued, "The meeting emphasized the importance of unifying national ranks to enhance security and social stability across the country, and preparing for the upcoming parliamentary elections as a fundamental pillar of the democratic process, so that the results reflect the will and choice of the Iraqi people, contributing to supporting the process of construction, reconstruction, and development in a secure and stable Iraq."

The Digital School Launches Major Digital Education Partnership with Kurdistan Regional Government

The Digital School, a pioneering initiative under the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, has launched a wide-ranging digital education partnership with the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, aiming to transform the region's education sector with future-ready tools and methodologies. The announcement came during an official visit by The Digital School delegation to the Kurdistan Region, where several digital schools were inaugurated, 2,400 teachers graduated from digital training programmes, and a new initiative was launched to train 10,000 more educators in collaboration with Arizona State University. The collaboration, developed in coordination with the region's Ministry of Education, includes the full integration of Kurdish language support across The Digital School's digital learning platforms. Key achievements include digitising the Kurdish national curriculum for grades 1 to 9, translating teacher training courses, and equipping 64 schools with smart technology. So far, over 40,000 students and 2,000 teachers have registered on the platform. Omar Sultan Al Olama, UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence and Chairman of The Digital School, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to empowering the next generation with the skills to lead in a digital world. He praised the swift progress and strong support from the Kurdistan Regional Government. Alan Hama Saeed, Kurdistan's Minister of Education, said The Digital School's fully digital model offers an essential step toward preparing Generation Alpha for a tech-driven future. The visit also featured classroom visits, equipment inspections, and a recognition ceremony for top-performing teachers. Dubai Cares, a key supporter, emphasised the role of digital education in building inclusive, adaptable learning systems for a rapidly changing world. Launched in 2020, The Digital School aims to deliver high-quality digital and blended learning to underserved communities, refugees, and displaced learners worldwide. PM: The government succeeded in confronting internal and external crises

PM Muhammed S. Al-Sudani met on Saturday in Erbil with the PM of the Kurdistan Regional Government of Iraq, Masrour Barzani. The meeting included discussions on several national-level issues, as well as key regional and international developments, reviewing the government's position on the ongoing crises in the region. Both stressed "the importance of partnership and coordination in facing challenges, as well as adopting a balanced policy grounded in cooperation and mutual interests with brotherly and friendly nations." PM Al-Sudani stated that "the government has successfully navigated various internal and external crises and has taken responsibility despite the regional volatility," reaffirming his administration's commitment to strengthening the national economy and consolidating stability throughout the country. The meeting also addressed "the importance of resolving all outstanding issues and removing obstacles by the Constitution and the law, in a way that ensures justice and benefits all Iraqis."
