BTS' Jin Explains The Real Meaning Of His Album Echo At Empire State Building

Last Updated: Just like the tracks on his album Echo, the colours that lit up the Empire State Building told a story, one of connection, emotion, and the shared human experience. BTS' Kim Seokjin is going all out to promote his second solo album, Echo. Following an elaborate promotional run in South Korea, the K-pop superstar took the excitement to the US, celebrating the album's release in a truly iconic way. On Tuesday night, May 20, Jin lit up New York City's Empire State Building in a stunning display of colours, transforming the landmark into an art. The lighting ceremony was more than just a flashy event. It was a meaningful tribute to Jin's new music and the emotions behind his second solo album. As quoted by L'Officiel US, the BTS star, speaking to his fans and media gathered for the moment, said, 'It's a great honour to be here with you today. Thank you so much for inviting me." The Empire State Building beamed in soft hues of blue, pink, yellow and white lights, all of which were chosen by the K-pop idol himself, and there were definite reasons behind them. According to Jin, blue stands for hope, pink for love, yellow for joy and white for fresh starts. Just like the songs on Echo, the colours told a story about connection, emotion and the human experience. At the event, Jin described Echo as an album that reflects love, friendship and shared journeys. 'Each song, like an echo, conveys heartfelt messages reflecting love, friendship, and the journey we share together," he explained. While the Empire State Building dazzled in bright hues, Jin kept his style classic and elegant in a black coat with red floral embroidery, pairing it with a plain white T-shirt and black trousers. Speaking of Echo, the BTS star released his second solo album just six months after releasing his first one, titled Happy. The album, comprising seven tracks, including the lead single Don't Say You Love Me, was released through Big Hit Music on May 16. Described as a pop-rock album, it is influenced by various sub-genres of rock and also features a collaboration with K-pop soloist Yena on the song Loser. Moreover, Jin is soon embarking on his first-ever solo tour, the Run Seokjin EP Tour, in support of both his solo albums. It will begin on June 28 in Seoul, South Korea and will make stops in Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. Jin's tour is scheduled to end on August 10. First Published:
