BJP seeks deportation of Pakistani nationals staying illegally in Karnataka
BJP leaders have urged the State government to deport Pakistani nationals staying illegally in the State. Addressing a press conference in Mysuru on Monday, BJP's Mysuru city president L. Nagendra alleged that the State government had failed to take action on deporting Pakistani nationals staying illegally in the State, despite clear directives from the Centre. Though the BJP-ruled States had taken prompt action on the Centre's directives issued in the wake of the terror attack at Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir recently, the non-BJP ruled States, including the Congress government in Karnataka, had shown little interest in this regard, alleged Mr. Nagendra, who is also a former MLA. BJP MLA for Krishnaraja, T.S. Srivatsa, who was also present in the press conference, alleged that a large number of Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationals were staying in Karnataka illegally and sought their deportation. The BJP leaders said they planned to meet Deputy Commissioner Lakshmikanth Reddy and submit a memorandum in this regard. BJP MLA and Mysuru District BJP President L.R. Mahadevaswamy and other BJP leaders were also present.
