According to the State Treasurer's office, $1.2 billion in unclaimed property needs to be returned to Louisiana citizens.
The money comes from businesses turning over millions in unclaimed cash, stocks, bonds, securities, and insurance proceeds to the Louisiana State Treasurer's Office.
