Lily Allen reveals ‘extremely heavy few weeks' after social media ban

The LDN singer's ex-relationship has put a huge strain on her mental health (Picture: Getty Images) Lily Allen is feeling the weight of a tough year – and she's not keeping it to herself. The British singer has revealed she's been 'incredibly low' in recent months, following the breakdown of her marriage to actor David Harbour. On her podcast Miss Me?, which she co-hosts with friend Miquita Oliver, Allen opened up about the emotional toll her separation has taken. She described a sense of spiralling, paired with intense panic attacks that left her feeling out of control. The 00's icon also revealed she was often bored whilst living in New York and has now stopped using social media to improve her mental health. She admitted she has gone cold turkey on her use of social media in order to get her mental health back on track, 'I'm nearly two weeks into a complete social media ban.' She's still recovering from the breakdown of her marriage to David Harbour (Picture: James Shaw/REX/Shutterstock) The Smile hitmaker has been very open about her mental health on her podcast (Picture: BBC Sounds) The singer went on to say, 'I don't have that much to do here in New York during the day and so I guess I would find myself sitting on Instagram and scrolling or being narcissistic and posting or reading my responses and getting that dopamine fix.' Allen compared her ban of social media to withdrawing from drugs: 'I think I was having withdrawal symptoms. It was horrible, I mean, I really did feel like I was withdrawing from drugs or something, it was crazy.' In a raw moment of honesty, Allen admitted she needed professional help to improve her worsening mental health. The 40-year-old subsequently checked herself into a trauma treatment centre near her US home. This wasn't about rehab, she clarified – it was purely to address her mental health. The facility, which offers intensive therapy and costs around £8,000 a week, became her temporary home while she worked through her feelings post-breakup. Allen recently found out her now estranged husband, Harbour, was on the celebrity dating app Raya. This news triggered a spiral of poor mental health for the pop icon. She didn't hold back as she described the sting of discovering that detail. Allen took a break from the podcast late last year (Picture: lilyallen/Instagram) The former couple ironically met on the dating app Raya back in 2018. Speaking on the Jonathan Ross Show, Lily was just swiping for fun when she came across her ex-lover David, ''I didn't know who he was. I thought he was just like a sexy policeman from a reality TV show because he was wearing a policeman's uniform. It was a still from Stranger Things. I'd never seen Stranger Things,' Turning 40 was another major milestone, one she approached with both celebration and reflection. She shared snippets of her birthday online, surrounded by friends and family who she said 'really showed up' for her. Now back in London and living with her two daughters, Allen says she's working on building a calmer, more grounded life. Got a story? Katy Perry says she's been made a ‘human piñata' after backlash to space flight

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video 'Astronaut' Katy Perry has responded to the backlash over her space trip, slamming the widespread ridicule over her zero-gravity antics. On April 14, the Teenage Dream hitmaker was part of Jeff Bezos' 11-minute all-female Blue Origin mission into space. Many questioned the environmental impact of what some have called a 'vanity flight', with Katy, 40, getting most of the criticism. This has emboldened people to take aim at her over other things like her 'cringe' Lifetimes Tour, which started recently in Mexico City. Amid the criticism, Katy said she felt like a 'human piñata' in reply to a social media post which was condemning the hurtful comments. She wrote: 'I love you guys and have grown up together with you and am so excited to see you all over the world this year! Please know I am ok, I have done a lot work around knowing who I am, what is real and what is important to me.' Katy revealed that she had been taking strength from a 'game changer' comment from her therapist years ago. 'No one can make you believe something about yourself that you don't already believe about yourself,' she shared. The Firework singer continued: 'If I ever do have any feelings about it then it's an opportunity to investigate the feeling underneath it. 'When the 'online' world tries to make me a human Piñata, I take it with grace and send them love, cause I know so many people are hurting in so many ways and the internet is very much so a dumping ground for unhinged and unhealed.' The recent onslaught began when Katy headed into space with the likes of Gayle King, Amanda Nguyen, and Lauren Sanchez (who is also married to Bezos). It was met with scepticism from the first announcement, partly thanks to the revelation that Blue Origin's main mission is to put our rubbish into space. Then, during the flight itself, Katy held up a Daisy for her daughter and sang What A Wonderful World – before promoting her tour. Landing back on earth after the excursion, she dramatically kissed the ground, which a source later admitted she now regrets. She was quickly slammed by her fellow celebs, including Lily Allen, who has since apologised for her 'misogynistic' comments. 'I just think it's so out of touch we're on the brink of a recession, people are really struggling to make ends meet, it just seems like things are hard at the moment,' the LDN hitmaker had previously said. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video However, Lily wasn't the only one feeling that way as Vicky Pattinson stated that the mission doesn't represent 'feminism,' claiming its aim was to 'distract' people from how women's rights are being 'slowly, almost imperceptibly, taken away.' More Trending Emily Ratajkowski was one of the first to share her 'disgust' at the move while Olivia Munn called the mission 'gluttonous'. In her response, Katy continued: 'I know we are healing each other in a small way when I get to do that. l'm not perfect, and I actually have omitted that word from my vocabulary, l'm on a human journey playing the game of life with an audience of many and sometimes I fall but… 'I get back up and go on and continue to play the game and somehow through my battered and bruised adventure I keep looking to the light and in that light a new level UNLOCKS.' Progress Update on Halberd, Athena GTX and Athena Telemedicine Partnership, LLC Joint Projects

The US Government Granted Athena GTX a $2,866,000 Final Development Contract Award! JACKSON CENTER, Pa., March 17, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Halberd Corporation (OTC: HALB) partnered with Athena GTX on a profit-sharing agreement over a year ago. This enabled Halberd to utilize Athena's expertise and experience in dealing with the federal government. Of the two technologies associated with Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI)/Suicide Ideation for which we chose to pursue government funding, Athena's success via the WatchDawg® Pilot Study was chosen to lead the Suicide Ideation treatment project, while Halberd, via the successful Mississippi State University initial animal tests, leads the TBI mitigation nasal spray development program. The website we established to do the hard work on market development and FDA clearance for our LDX adjunct treatment program is indeed now part of the Athena Telemedicine Partnership, LLC (ATP). That partnership involves the pharmacy, nutraceuticals, yoga/meditation, unique, wearable monitoring, and psychological therapists combining to service veteran mental health issues and suicidal ideation. This approach is significantly better, has been thoroughly documented as to clinical efficacy, and has permitted the filing of a provisional patent application based on the previous pilot study results. Finally, we are currently seeking near-term funding to execute the FDA clearance plan for LDX, including both a 30-50 participant Phase 1 clinical trial and then a 100-150 participant Phase 2 study. We are also awaiting key demographic studies with the indigenous American tribes both here in the continental USA and in Alaska. The rates of mental health issues, alcoholism, and suicidal ideation are very large in these demographic areas. These all are focused on obtaining the required safety and efficacy data for we need to get an FDA clearance via an expedited program this year. In light of government funding delays, we are negotiating with the private funding sector to support our ongoing work. Our plan for commercialization of our LDN+/LDX PTSD/Suicidal ideation treatment product is to move to compounded pharmacy formulations under the appropriate compounding laws, until FDA clearance for the proprietary LDN+/LDX combined drug is achieved. After finishing a comprehensive government and commercial market assessment, we discovered that the projections for potential commercial applications are significantly higher than originally thought. Concurrently, Halberd continues to lead the work with Mississippi State University on the TBI therapeutic nasal spray. In addition to pursuing government contracts, we have begun planning for Phase #2 animal studies. This nasal spray technology product is believed to require a longer-term development process, but we believe this product could offer an even greater market potential. We have pending government contract awards in this technology product and have completed critical proposals to support this work. We hope to hear positive response to our petitions shortly. On the positive side, the Athena GTX team was awarded a $2,866,000 final development contract for their work on their Smart Autonomous Critical Care System (S-ACCS). Two additional awards are now pending; one on the Athena GTX WatchDawg software patient-provider portal, and one on the Nasal Spray with the Halberd/Mississippi State University team. We recently submitted two of four new proposals to SOCOM for the technologies we are working on. This has our entire teams looking forward to even more contract awards for our combined technologies.
