LG Electronics Inc. has paused work on the initial public offering of its Indian unit amid market volatility, according to people familiar with the matter. The South Korean company has told advisers it may postpone the India unit's IPO, the people said, asking not to be identified because the deliberations are private. LG Electronics may decide to resume the share sale if market conditions improve, they said.

India Regulator Approves LG Electronics Unit's Listing Plan
India's market regulator approved LG Electronics Inc.'s application for an initial public offering of its Indian unit, a deal that may raise $1.5 billion and be one of the biggest local listings this year. Securities and Exchange Board of India disclosed the approval on the regulator's website. The firm filed its application in early December.

Refrigerators of LG, Samsung win top spots in US review
South Korean tech giants LG Electronics Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. have received stellar evaluations for their refrigerators from a US consumer magazine, industry sources said Sunday. LG refrigerators were selected as the "Best Refrigerators of 2025" in two product categories chosen by Consumer Reports, according to the sources. In a separate fridge model category, Samsung ranked No. 1, followed by LG. The evaluation was based on temperature control, temperature uniformity and energy efficiency, as well as a customer survey, on hundreds of refrigerator models available in the US market. Samsung, LG and other South Korean brands have a significant presence in the US refrigerator market, with their market share reaching nearly 50 percent. In an earlier evaluation by the US magazine, LG and Samsung ranked No. 1 in the washer and dryer combo categories, the sources added. (Yonhap)
