Is the Great White Shark's designer golf course a ‘hole in one' for investors?
Capital gain A prominent golf course designed by sporting superstar Greg Norman and industry legend Bob Harrison in regional NSW is up for sale. Norman, nicknamed the Great White Shark, helped design the Par 72 layout – which features Santa Ana couch grass fairways – in the late 1980s and while no price is disclosed, it has expectations of selling for around $14 million. The course has about 500 playing members and was home to the 2002 NSW Masters. The Shark, as he is now more commonly known, has won many major tournaments and was part of the formation of the controversial Saudi-backed LIV Golf Invitational Series of golf tournaments. Reputed to have a close bond with golf tragic President Donald Trump, the Shark's Greg Norman Golf Course Design business has created more than 100 courses across 34 countries and six continents. The sale of the freehold Longyard Golf Course and The Windmill Tavern in Tamworth includes nearly 60 hectares of land. The 18-hole championship course is recognised as one of NSW's premier regional venues. The property is being sold by owners who have held it for the past decade.

Is Donald Trump visiting New York this weekend? What we know
President Donald Trump may be spending this weekend in New York. Trump's son Barron Trump's birthday was on Thursday, March 20, ahead of his spring break at New York University, where he's currently a freshman, the president could be headed to the Empire State. Here's what we know about Trump's possible weekend plans. A Federal Aviation Administration Safety Team notice from this week shows "VIP movement" for New York City. While it does not state Trump specifically, "VIP" is often an indication that a plane will be carrying either the president, the vice president or other public figures designated by the White House, according to FAA guidelines. If so, it is likely Trump will head to his Midtown Manhattan home at Trump Tower, which is roughly a 12-minute car ride from LaGuardia Airport, where it is possible his Air Force One may arrive. Barron Trump is the only child of Donald Trump and Melania Trump, and the youngest child among Trump's five children. He has largely been kept out of the spotlight, only occasionally appearing at major events. He grew up in the Trump family home at Trump Tower and attended Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School, before graduating from Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida in 2024. Barron Trump, who turned 19 on Thursday, last appeared in public for his father's Inauguration Day events in January. Barron Trump attends New York University Stern School of Business, where he is a freshman. The college will be on spring break from Monday, March 24, through Friday, March 28. It's not clear if the teen has any regularly scheduled classes at NYU on Thursday or Friday of this week. While not attending classes, Barron Trump reportedly has forgone a freshman dorm room and stays in Trump Tower. Trump may head to the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster in Somerset County on Friday, according to an FAA Safety Team notice, indicating "VIP movement" at Morristown Municipal Airport and Bedminster on March 21. The alert aligns with other presidential notifications from the FAA. The early alert — no official temporary flight restriction was in place as of Wednesday afternoon — shows the movement extending through March 23. The Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster is located roughly 40 miles west of Trump Tower. Trump purchased the 520-acre property for roughly $35 million in 2002 and developed it into a two 18-hole championship course with a 1939 Georgian Revival clubhouse, an Olympic-size swimming pool, tennis and paddle facilities, and rooms for overnight stays. It is also host to several top golf tournaments, including the 2023 LIV Golf Invitational Series. During his first term, Trump spent a considerable amount of time at Bedminster, and its often referred to as his "Summer White House," often used from springtime through September. It would be Trump's first known visit to New Jersey since July 14, 2024, the day after he survived an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. He purposely avoided his New Jersey home during the winter due to the purported drone sightings across the Garden State. President Trump could soon make first trip since inauguration to Bedminster, N.J., club
It appears President Donald Trump soon will make his first trip since his second inauguration to his New Jersey golf club. The Federal Aviation Administration Safety Team on Thursday issued a notice that there will be temporary flight restrictions for "VIP movement" over Trump's Bedminster club from March 21-23. While the notice does not specifically mention Trump, it does include the range for the temporary flight restrictions, which match those issued for presidential travel. No official notice of temporary flight restrictions has been posted. The notices issued by the FAA Safety Team historically have been early indications of Trump's travel plans. The notice comes ahead of Trump's sixth visit to his Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach from March 14-16. He has traveled to Florida for all but one weekend of his second term in the White House, heading either to Palm Beach or his Doral golf resort. He remained in Washington, D.C., the weekend of Feb. 21-23 to attend and speak at the annual Conservative Political Action Conference. Should Trump head to Bedminster March 21-23, it would provide Palm Beach a reprieve from U.S. Secret Service-mandated road closures during the Palm Beach International Boat Show, which is March 19-23 and prompts the closure of streets along West Palm Beach's waterfront. The closure of South Ocean Boulevard next to Trump's Mar-a-Lago Club that accompanies each of his visits to Palm Beach could lead to further congestion that weekend. Trump National Golf Club is in the township of Bedminster, which as of the 2020 U.S. Census had a population of 8,272 people. Bedminster is about 39 miles from New York City, and about 216 miles from Washington, D.C. The club sits on the south side of the two-lane Lamington Road in a rural area of New Jersey's Somerset County. Bedminster, like Palm Beach, is known as a hub for the wealthy and famous. On the west side of the town are estates that can span dozens of acres and are owned by some of the wealthiest people in New Jersey. The east side of Bedminster is home to a middle-class, blue-collar community. In 2022 and 2023, Trump Bedminster hosted the LIV Golf Invitational Series. In 2023, Trump played in the pro-am that preceded that year's tournament. In 2017, the LPGA held the U.S. Women's Open at the club. The 2014 Metropolitan Open Championship and 2009 USGA Junior Amateur Championship also were held there. Trump usually spends weekends in Bedminster after the end of Palm Beach's social season, which traditionally is after Easter. In 2017, the first year of his first term as president, Trump did not travel to Bedminster until May. Throughout his first term, he favored Bedminster over Palm Beach during the summer, when weather is more fair in New Jersey and the social scene is much quieter in Palm Beach. The Mar-a-Lago Club closes after Easter for the off-season and does not reopen until Halloween. It's believed that Trump could spend significantly more time at Mar-a-Lago during his second term than he did during his first. He and First Lady Melania Trump made Palm Beach their permanent residence in 2019, and those close to the president have said he prefers the setting of Mar-a-Lago when hosting visiting dignitaries. The land on which Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster now sits was once owned by carmaker John DeLorean. The property sold in 2000 to a golf course developer who sold the property in 2002 to Trump. When the now-president purchased the club, the golf course designed by Tom Fazio was under construction. The club is 500 acres, and the clubhouse was DeLorean's mansion. This article originally appeared on Palm Beach Post: Trump could soon make first trip since inauguration to Bedminster club

President Trump heading to Bedminster course for first time since assassination attempt
President Trump heading to Bedminster course for first time since assassination attempt President Donald Trump is expected to head back to Bedminster just in time for the spring golf season. His return to Trump National Golf Club is believed to be the first time since last summer's assassination attempt and comes over 50 days since his second inauguration. Trump returned to his Bedminster golf resort on July 14, 2024, a day after he suffered an ear wound after a gunman opened fire during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Since then, Trump has not been spotted at his New Jersey home, and purposely avoided it in December due to the purported drone sightings in the Garden State. According to a Federal Aviation Administration Safety Team notice issued Thursday, temporary flight restrictions will be in place for "VIP Movement" over Trump's Bedminster golf club from March 21 through March 23. The notice does not mention Trump; however, it includes the range for temporary flight restrictions that align with typical presidential flights. The president is planning to be in Palm Beach County in Florida this weekend just in time for St. Patrick's Day festivities before he begins his pilgrimages to his New Jersey home. An official Federal Aviation Administration flight restriction has not yet been posted, with FAA Safety Team notices often dropping days ahead of an official restriction in place. Where is his Bedminster resort and how often does he visit New Jersey? Here's what to know. Where is Bedminster? The Trump National Golf Club is located in Bedminster in Somerset County, roughly 40 miles west of his other home, Trump Tower in Manhattan. The township is 27 square miles and had a population of just over 8,100 in 2023, according to U.S. Census data. Trump purchased the 520-acre property, known as Lamington Farms, for roughly $35 million in 2002. It was developed into a two 18-hole championship course with a 1939 Georgian Revival clubhouse, an Olympic-size swimming pool, tennis and paddle facilities, and rooms for overnight stays. It is also host to several top golf tournaments, including the 2023 LIV Golf Invitational Series. During his first term, Trump spent a considerable amount of time at Bedminster, and its often referred to as his "Summer White House," often used from springtime through September, although has been spotted holding fundraising events on "off-season" times, such as an Oct. 1, 2020 event where several days later he and wife, First Lady Melania Trump, tested positive for COVID-19. Where does Trump stay in Bedminster? Trump resides in a small cottage next to the club's pool, according to Sports Illustrated, and later expanded to add a second-floor balcony and porch, according to Politico. Trump's daughter Ivanka and husband Jared Kushner have a separate cottage on-site that is more than 2,000 square feet. The couple got married at the Bedminster club in 2009. There is also a family cemetery on the grounds where his former wife, Ivana Trump, is interred. When does Trump visit New Jersey? Trump usually ramps up his visits to New Jersey come spring, when the weather gets warmer and golf season is in full swing at his Bedminster club. He usually starts to visit in the spring, and it continues through September, although he has visited in other months. According to the FAA Safety Team notice, he is expected to arrive in New Jersey for the first time since last summer on March 21 and stay through March 23. When Trump arrives on Air Force One, the FAA puts in place temporary flight restrictions, forcing the temporary lockdown of surrounding airspace and impacting 21 public airports in New Jersey. Trump typically flies in to Morristown Municipal Airport. Lori Comstock is a New Jersey-based journalist with the Mid-Atlantic Connect Team.
