‘I love it': Slime pays for teenage business owner Sienna

Most teenagers get their first part-time job in fast food or retail, or might earn pocket money mowing lawns and doing odd jobs. Not Sienna Grima. At 18, she's juggling year 12 studies with running her own slime business. When she was 11, she started selling, online and at markets, the tubs of pliable goo she made at home. The enterprise was an unexpected hit, and she named it Slime By Sienna. Seven years later, she now owns a factory and has just bought a car. Sienna fills hundreds of orders per week, and hosts up to six children's birthday parties each weekend, charging $50 a head, with her mother, Jen Grima. On Sunday, they attended parties in Airport West, Brighton and South Morang. Clients made fake pancakes and ice-creams and decorated them with clay sprinkles, glitter and foam balls. During the July school holidays, Sienna will run 20 slime workshops, charging $35 a head, at LaManna supermarket in Essendon Fields.

Berwick: LaManna & Sons co-founder Brandon La Manna lists epic six-bedroom house

Supermarket bigwig Brandon La Manna is hoping his resort-style Berwick house bags a $2.8m-$3m sale. The LaManna empire began when the son of an Italian immigrant, Pasquale (Pat) LaManna, opened fruit shops across Melbourne from the 1950s onwards. The family business grew to include Australia's largest independent supermarket, the 10,000sq m LaManna in Essendon Fields. In 2017, Pat's son Greg established LaManna & Sons alongside his own sons Brandon and Jordan. The company runs a South Yarra greengrocer and delicatessen, plus a Cremorne cafe. Brandon said that one of the reasons he fell in love with the house at 18 Caravelle Court was its views of rolling hills and greenery. Hosting relatives and friends in the outdoor entertaining area featuring a pool, spa, kitchen, powder room and pavilion has been another highlight. Across his five years at the property, he has held New Years' events where guests have watched the fireworks over Port Phillip Bay. 'The most people I have had here has been about 50 to 60, you could have up to 150 if you wanted to, it is pretty awesome for entertaining and it feels like a resort,' Brandon said. He is also a fan of the local wildlife that visits the garden's fruit trees. 'We're set on more than an acre, there is great views, plenty of nature and privacy as well, you can't even see the house from the street,' Brandon added. The house showcases glass walls, multiple living areas, enclosed balconies, a home theatre and an adjoining two-bedroom studio with its own bathroom. Belle Property Berwick principal Anne Haynes said she would not be surprised if the house, which has attracted interest from overseas-based buyers, sold before expressions of interest close at 3pm on June 16. 'I think it's a stunning property, it offers elevated living and excellent views – every window is like a postcard,' Ms Haynes said. 'There has been phenomenal interest and we had about 48 groups come through on Saturday.'

Healthy eating: La Manna plant-powered ragu is a scrumptious riot of antioxidants

Here, he uses cauliflower, pulsing it into textured mince using a food processor. This simple process results in garlicky, tomatoed nuggets of yum folded into ribbons of Italian pasta and bathed in rich red wine. It's fantastic. I have made slight adjustments to La Manna's recipe to suit my teens' tastes such as upping the garlic and leaving out the rosemary. I recommend checking out his plant-powered cookbook You Can Cook This!
