Montreal police (SPVM) set up a large security perimeter in the Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie borough Friday after receiving a report that a potentially explosive material had been dropped off at a local business.
According to the SPVM, officers received a call around 4 p.m. regarding the incident at a business on des Carrières Street near Christophe-Colomb Avenue.
'Our explosives experts are currently examining the material, but it does not appear to be dangerous,' said an SPVM spokesperson.
No evacuations were necessary.
Investigators are also working to locate the person who left the material at the scene.
