The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) will provide another update at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon regarding wildfires as more evacuees are set to return home on Thursday.
About 7,000 people in the La Ronge area will be returning home with a wildfire evacuation order for La Ronge, Air Ronge and the Lac la Ronge Indian Band lifting.
Favourable winds and rainfall have helped firefighting crews contain a wildfire near the communities over the past few days.
According to the SPSA, as of Wednesday morning, 22 wildfires are burning across Saskatchewan. Three are considered not contained and two have crews strictly protecting structures from flames.
