Boardman Softball bound for the State Final Four
KENT, Ohio (WKBN) – Boardman rallied to top Louisville, 3-1, in the Division III Softball Regional Final on Saturday afternoon at Kent State University.
Boardman advances to the state final four for the fourth time in program history. Their last appearance at state came in 2002.
Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Spartans got on the board on a sacrifice fly from Addie Rudge, which tied the game 1-1.
Later in the inning, Alex Ward added a two-out RBI single, giving Boardman its first lead of the game.
Boardman increased the lead to 3-1 in the top of the seventh inning, when Laci Jurus came through with an RBI single.
With the win, Boardman advances to face Holland Springfield in the Division III State Semifinals at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, June 6 at Firestone Stadium in Akron.
