Kewaunee County Sheriff's Office honors man who entered fully engulfed home to save pets and residents
KEWAUNEE COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Kewaunee County Sheriff's Office commemorated a man who may have saved several lives last month.
On February 9, 2025, Mr. Laiken Tietjen was a casual passerby when he saw flames that fully engulfed a home.

Laiken chose to take action, entering the home to help residents and their pets escape to safety.
Laiken was honored with a Certificate of Appreciation on Friday morning due to his heroic and valiant efforts. He accepted the award with his children, Millie and Cohwyn.

'Thank you Laiken for your actions and example to us all,' the Kewaunee County Sheriff's Office said.
Laiken even commented on the post, thanking those who helped during the situation.
