Filipino papercut artist Badz Magsumbol holds art exhibit, workshops in Belgium
Renowned Filipino papercut artist and visual storyteller Badz Magsumbol brought his artistry and advocacy to Europe with "Lakbay Sining," his first art and cultural mission in Belgium.
On Facebook, Magsumbol shared snaps from his activities held in commemoration of the 127th Philippine Independence Day.
The celebration began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and exhibit opening on June 12, attended by invited guests.
It was followed by two art workshops: one for adults on June 14 at the Philippine Embassy and another for children on June 15 at Artistes du Monde for Kids, Rue des Cygnes.
His brother, GMA Integrated News Assistant Vice President Antonio Magsumbol, congratulated him on his success through a Facebook post.
"Thanks for waving the Filipino flag and the AM team in Belgium! Mabuhay!" he wrote.
Magsumbol is a visual storyteller who grew up in Valenzuela and is based in Manila, who shares his advocacy of reaching out to children through art all over the country and abroad.
His works transcend the usual papercut craft from simple two-dimensional art to three-dimensional paper relief sculptures.
