A woman will face court today after allegedly stabbing a young mother and her 10-year-old son in a violent roadside altercation in Wollongong. According to police, a 27-year-old woman was driving with her two children, aged 10 and three on West Dapto Road, when they were allegedly forced to stop by another vehicle. The driver of the second car, a 59-year-old woman known to the family, reportedly got out and approached their vehicle, sparking a heated confrontation. The older woman allegedly pulled a knife and stabbed the young mother and her 10-year-old son. Both victims suffered serious stab wounds and were treated on the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to hospital. Authorities confirmed that both remain in serious but stable condition. The woman's three-year-old son, who was also in the car, escaped unharmed and is now in the care of a family member. Lake Illawarra Police District officers established a crime scene and launched an immediate investigation. At around 6.30pm police descended on a home in nearby Horsley, where they arrested the 59-year-old suspect. She was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station and charged with two counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The accused was refused bail and is set to appear before Wollongong Local Court today. Police are urging anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage related to the incident to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Man, 41, dies after horror e-scooter crash in Lake Illawarra, southern NSW
A man has died after falling from an e-scooter in southern NSW overnight, with another man now assisting police with their inquiries. A man has died after falling from his e-scooter before allegedly being struck by a car in a horror incident on a road in southern NSW. The e-scooter rider had crashed onto the roadway, sustaining serious injuries before being struck by a passing vehicle, NSW Police said in a statement. Emergency services were called to the intersection of Kanahooka Rd and Brolga St, Kanahooka just before 7pm. The rider, 41-year-old man, was assisted by bystanders before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived, but he died on scene. The vehicle driver, 59-year-old man, was uninjured and was taken to hospital for mandatory testing. He was then taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where he is assisting with inquiries. Officers have now established a crime scene, and will investigate the circumstances of the incident.
