Boys, Girls championship games set for Region 1-AAAA
STATESBORO, Ga. (WSAV) — The region championship games are set for Region 1-AAAA on the boys' and girls' side after an exciting day of semifinal action at Statesboro High School on Feb. 13.
On the girls' side, Bradwell Institute pulled away late from Glynn Academy to advance to the finale, 41-33. The Lady Tigers will face Brunswick. The Lady Pirates upset Evans, 65-59. The game will tip off from Statesboro on Feb. 14 at 7 p.m.
On the boys' side, the matchup is Brunswick against Lakeside-Evans. Brunswick created some separation in the fourth quarter to win, 61-40. Lakeside-Evans got all they could handle from Bradwell Institute. However, Lakeside-Evans finished on top, 67-66. The game will tip off after the conclusion of the girls' championship.
