Man arrested after police discover ‘harmful' photos

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A Logan County man is in custody after allegedly admitting to taking pictures of kids during a Memorial Day parade. The Washington Township Police Department said Monday that an adult male was reported to them around 12:14 p.m., while at the Lakeview Amvets Memorial Service. Officers confronted the man, who then reportedly admitted to having the photos on his phone and that they were taken during the service. Upon allegedly giving consent, officers conducted a search of his phone and found 'additional harmful photographs of children not affiliated with the parade.' The man is reportedly facing a charge of felony pandering obscenity involving a minor. The department is working to identify those affected by the incident. Those people will be contacted by the department accordingly. 'Today is a reminder for all of us that being diligent of our surroundings makes those around us safer. We can't thank the quick actions of bystanders enough for bringing this situation to our attention,' the department said. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
