We're Putting a Honda Engine in This Porsche with Big Dreams and a Small Budget

I always appreciate the artistry of ultra high-end hot rods, like the Porsches that come out of Singer's garage or old Land Cruisers that have been remade by Icon 4×4. But I'm more impressed when people do interesting builds with tight budgets and modest workshops. Take my buddy Tom here—he was engine-swapping a Porsche with Honda power in the back corner of some shop parking lot, outside, in February, in New Jersey. And he's currently doing a great job documenting the project and his pain for our amusement on The Drive 's YouTube channel. I met Tom something like 18 months ago. We were buzzing around the New York-New Jersey border getting rolling shots of a Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato. I was quickly intrigued by his casual confidence… and quick willingness to hang himself out the back of my BMW to get the images he wanted. 'Dude's a bit of a gangster,' I thought to myself as he operated our makeshift camera turret. I now find myself making the same comment as I'm watching Tom shovel snow and doing open-engine work out in the elements. As you'll see in the intro video to this new series, Tom was our main man behind the CARISMA video series we ran for the last couple of years. He found a lot of very interesting builds and did a great job capturing the people behind them. (Check it out if you haven't!) Now he's got a build of his own going, and we thought it'd only be right to let him tell the story of how he's putting a Honda K-Series engine into his Porsche 944 after its original engine went kaput . We're doing our best to make sure these videos are interesting to both car nerds and casual watchers. Don't expect a comprehensive how-to tutorial, but if you've never swapped an engine yourself, you might learn a thing or two if you come along for the journey. The first real update is already live, and another episode will drop this week. You know the routine: Watch, like, subscribe, and share these around if you like what you see! I'm stoked to have more grassroots-level wrenching on our YouTube channel and homepage. This is the kind of stuff that gets me motivated to get off my butt and start fixing the 99 problems my own fleet of project cars has. If Tom can do it in a frozen back lot, I think I'm all out of excuses with my two-bay heated garage! Working on any projects like this yourself? Tell us about it at tips@ Pro car critic since 2012. Andrew's also been an off-road tour guide, repo man, and Baja co-driver, among other things. Lifetime car nerd, amateur tinkerer, very slow casual racer.

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal Adds Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato to Supercar Collection

Read the full story on Modern Car Collector Billionaire entrepreneur Deepinder Goyal, co-founder and CEO of Zomato, has expanded his already impressive fleet of luxury cars with the addition of a Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, an exclusive off-road-capable supercar. The vehicle, finished in a striking Blu Astraeus—a deep blue with purple undertones—was recently spotted at DLF Camellias, a luxury residential complex. The acquisition, reportedly priced at ₹4.6 crore (ex-showroom), highlights Goyal's passion for high-performance automobiles. Unlike traditional Lamborghinis, the Huracan Sterrato is designed for rugged terrain. It boasts increased ground clearance by 44mm, a reinforced aluminum front underbody, roof-mounted air intakes, and auxiliary LED lights on the front bumper. The car sits on dark champagne gold multi-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels, adding to its distinctive look. Under the hood, the Huracan Sterrato is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine producing 610 horsepower and 560Nm of peak torque. The power is channeled through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, driving all four wheels with the help of a rear mechanical self-locking differential. The vehicle also features three driving modes—Strada, Sport, and Rally—catering to both road and off-road performance. Goyal, who has a net worth of approximately $1.4 billion according to Forbes, is no stranger to headline-making automotive acquisitions. His collection includes an array of luxury and high-performance vehicles such as a Bentley Continental GT W12 Mulliner Edition, an Aston Martin DB12, a Ferrari Roma, multiple Porsches, and a BMW M8 Competition. The 41-year-old businessman founded Zomato in 2008, transforming it from a restaurant discovery platform into a food delivery giant. In early 2025, Zomato's parent company rebranded as Eternal Ltd, signaling its ambitions beyond food delivery. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter

Ferrari F40 Gets Flogged On A Frozen Lake

Read the full story on Backfire News We personally know many car enthusiasts who would do unspeakable things to own a Ferrari F40. But this YouTuber who has one in silver decided to take it and flog the 80s supercar on a frozen lake to entertain his viewers. And his friends joined in with other supercars, making us wonder just what the total damage was for making the the damage done to these supercars was minimal, especially for the long run. But, we're of the opinion cars were made to be driven, not just parked and looked at like some sort of sculpture. The F40 and the other rides all get studded tires, otherwise they would struggle for any traction. But even with the studs, the beauty from Maranello still wasn't turning the tightest on the slippery stuff. Even with that it still looked plenty graceful. Ironically, the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato, a supercar that's supposedly made for off-road driving, suffered some damage on the lake. Thankfully, it was just some plastic under cladding, but we bet it's extra expensive plastic. Later, a second Sterrato and a local sheriff's car also participated in the madness. So did a Porsche 911 Turbo S. There's a huge oddity among the exotic rides at the frozen lake: a Mazda Miata. It's not just your average one, either. As the owner shows off, the steering wheel is on the right, like you'd expect to see in a JDM model. But, the pedals are all on the left. Don't ask us, it's just weird. This sort of thing, taking exotic supercars and even hypercars out onto a frozen lake to be driven hard, is something that's done often in places like Switzerland. So, it's not like these guys came up with something entirely original. But it's still fun to watch them play with their toys. Images via Supercar Ron/YouTube
