No charges for officers who fatally shot knife-wielding man
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A Franklin County grand jury has ruled not to indict multiple Columbus police officers involved in the shooting death of Lamine Mahmoudi.
On Friday, a Franklin County grand jury heard testimony regarding the shooting death of Lamine Mahmoudi. According to a release from the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office, the grand jury decided there was not enough evidence of guilt to support criminal charges.
Columbus officers came across Mahmoudi in an alleyway behind the Columbus Police 4 Precinct substation on Sept. 10th, 2024. Mahmoudi allegedly advanced towards officers while holding a large butcher knife in one hand and a meat cleaver in the other.
