LANCASTER, S.C. () — A Lancaster man is facing charges for reportedly selling cocaine out of his home, which is within walking distance of a community park. James Edward Hayden, 67, was arrested for several drug charges after his home on Connor Street was searched the morning of Friday, Feb. 21, the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office reports. Members of a task force started investigating Hayden, which led to them buying cocaine from him twice this month while undercover. On Friday, a search warrant was carried out at Hayden's home, where authorities say they found cocaine, Alprazolam pills, marijuana and a .22 caliber handgun. Hayden, his mother and an unnamed man were all at the home during the search; however, only Hayden was arrested. 'Thankfully, this turned out to be a pretty routine search but still a successful operation,' said Lancaster County Sheriff Barry Faile. 'We found Hayden at home and arrested him on the outstanding warrants, and we also found additional drugs and made more charges.'
