These singles are now more long-lasting than ever. Crease-resistant, densely packed and packed with rich pigments, the Color Design line features over 11 unique shades on Lancome's website with satin, matte and shimmer finishes. Primer that 'fills' fine lines shoppers are buying 'on repeat'
One shopper has purchased the £29 makeup bag hero over and over for nine years, others have said it's 'better' than brands like Benefit, with our beauty experts claiming it shares similar ingredients to Lancome and YSL Mature shoppers have praised a 'game changer' makeup product that helps 'fill open pores and fine lines' for flawless foundation application. The Smooth Like Silk Face Prime from brand Look Fabulous Forever has been hailed as 'better' than popular brands, with some claiming to have been 'buying it on repeat' for almost a decade. As skin ages, foundation, eye makeup and lipstick no longer last all day as they once did. This is because the skin often isn't as smooth as it once was, and the reduction in oestrogen production also leaves it a lot drier, so makeup tends to get absorbed into the skin, settling into fine lines and disappearing as the day goes on. As such, a good primer is a must to keep makeup looking great all day, which is exactly what the Smooth Like Silk Face Prime promises. Priced at £29, the complexion product can be used before makeup to prep the skin, or for those in a rush, users can even mix it into foundation before applying to save time, while achieving just as effective results. Designed specifically for older skin, the primer is formulated with aloe vera and silica, which reportedly 'fills open pores and fine lines' and provides the perfect base for long-lasting makeup. It prevents makeup from 'disappearing' throughout the day, reducing the need for constant touch ups, keeping makeup looking 'fresh' all day. The primer has a wealth of glowing reviews from fans, with more than 300 shoppers having commented on the makeup staple. One said: 'This was the first product I ever bought from LFF, some 9+ years ago, and I've been buying it on repeat ever since. Foundation simply glides on top of it. If in a hurry, mix it into your foundation.' More than one shopper has said that it's 'better' than the beloved brand Benefit. One commented: 'I used Benefit pore minimiser which was OK for my open pores on my nose. However, this primer is so much better. The primer blurs my open pores more effectively than Benefit. So good that this is my 2nd bottle.' Another added: 'For years I have been using Benefit pore minimiser as a primer and to reduce my open pores mainly on my nose. I find Benefit is the only primer I can use with other brand of foundation and to hide my pores until now. This Smooth Like Silk Primer is even much better. Not only does it minimise my large nose pores, it blends smoothly with other brand of foundation, makes my skin look even and smooth. For a 66 year old lady to receive a compliment from a 30 year old says it all. I definitely recommend this primer.' While many shoppers were complimentary about the formula, a number of customers have mentioned that they don't love the packaging. One said: 'Game-changing product! Just a tiny amount goes a long way to make skin smooth as silk and primed so that foundation glides on evenly and stays put all day. The only thing I would change would be the packaging. A lightweight plastic squeezy tube would be easier to pack when travelling. I want to take this key item everywhere I go.' 'This primer does feel 'smooth like silk' on application,' said a fifth fan. 'However, have rated 4 stars instead of 5 because I find the square shape of the container takes up too much room in a make-up bag.' Some beauty lovers have even ditched foundation in favour of a lighter makeup look since making the switch to the Look Fabulous Forever primer. One said: 'Absolutely love this product out of all LFF products this is hands down my number 1. Why? It does exactly what it says it will do, no faff no fuss. I wear it every working day, it smooths my complexion beautifully so much so I hardly ever wear foundation. Just a bit of Rosy Glow and lipstick! Ordered 2 bottles as I just ran out and was having withdrawal symptoms.' Primers we might expect to have a similar consistency, sharing the same main two ingredient as the Look Fabulous Forever primer (Cyclopenatsiloxane and Dimethicone Crosspolymer) are the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat Blur Primer, which is usually £36, as well as the Lancôme La Base Pro Perfecting Makeup Primer, ordinarily £35. But what makes Look Fabulous Forever slightly different is that the brand is designed specifically for those with older skin. It was founded by Tricia Cusden when she was 65 years old, with the brand recently celebrating its 11th anniversary. "I launched Look Fabulous Forever at the age of 65 because I felt largely invisible to the traditional beauty industry,' the founder said. 'I was also finding it increasingly difficult to find makeup that really worked on my older skin and have come to this business as a consumer - all our products are formulated so they perform brilliantly on older skin. At Look Fabulous Forever we want you to look fabulous whatever age you are without worrying too much about the odd wrinkle or grey hair.' For those curious about the brand's other products, the retailer is currently offering a trio of primers at a discounted rate. Worth £83, the set is priced at £59 and contains the Never Feather Lip Prime and Smooth Out Eye Prime, as well as the Smooth Like Silk Face Prime. The eye primer creates a perfectly smooth, neutral base to prevent your eyeshadow from migrating into fine lines and keep colours fresh all day, while the lip primer is designed to seal the edges of your lips, keeping your lipstick from bleeding into the fine lines around the mouth. Saving £24 overall, and coming with a free makeup bag, each of the primers work out at less than £20 each as part of the set, which could be worth considering for those looking to overhaul their makeup bag with products better suited to ageing skin. Alternatively, beauty fans can pick up the 'game changer' Smooth Like Silk Face Prime here.

Philips' two-year guarantee bolsters customers' confidence, with an ergonomically designed S-shaped handle that ensures ease of use for natural and precise movements across the body. This cordless wonder is equally efficient in the bath or shower – featuring an extra-wide epilator head perfect for tackling larger areas, complemented by a shaving head and trimming comb for that ultra-close shave. Despite its positives, some customers would prefer an attachment for smaller areas, with one remarking, 'it is not useful for face'. It also comes with a convenient pouch, making it a breeze to stash away or take along on holiday. There are some impressive fragrance offers, too, such as Givenchy's Ysatis Eau de Toilette, now £54.50 for 100ml instead of £109. This alluring fragrance is sure to leave a lasting impression. Relaunched with a contemporary bottle design while maintaining its soul since its 1984 debut, the captivating EDT opens with zesty Sicilian Mandarin Essence before blooming into a lush White Floral Bouquet, finally settling into the sultry warmth of Indonesian Patchouli Essence. Devoted Givenchy enthusiasts have claimed the floral and citrusy essences as their distinguishing aroma, with one dedicated fan stating: "I have been wearing Ysatis for over 20 years now and have no intention of stopping now. Perfume smells different on different skins but Ysatis suits mine and is suited for both day and evening wear." Another chimed in: "Worn this since the 80s. The bottle is not up to much but the perfume still smells lovely, but not as powerful and long lasting." Away from the sale, though, there are more deals to be had in the form of beauty boxes. They're currently offering a Premium Hair Beauty Box for £45, packed with 10 items worth around £220 designed to give you glossy, healthy locks. Alternatively, there's a Boots Self Care Beauty Box, worth £137 for £35.

Debenhams shopper says she looks 'less tired' with 'smoother skin' thanks to Lancome eye cream
Shoppers can now save 20% on the luxury skincare at Debenhams Prioritising a regular skincare routine is increasingly becoming important for those who want not only feel better, but look radiant and glowing. With people's stress levels at an all time high, feeling and looking tired is quite common and something plenty try to avoid. Many invest in eye creams to keep them looking awake, bright and fresh. Lancome has been producing luxury skincare products, fragrances and makeup since 1935 to help people look and feel good. Now, shoppers can grab Lancome Advanced Genifique Eye Cream from Debenhams for £43.20 down from £54. The 15ml tub of eye cream features hero ingredients such as Bifidus prebiotic and hyaluronic acid, which are said to help with moisture retention and hydration of the delicate eye areas. For anyone worried about ageing or fine lines, this cream is said to target any visible signs of getting older. Shoppers need to blend it between their fingertips before applying above and under eye contours. Then, add gentle touches around the crow's feet - the side of the eyes - before tapping around eye contours to stimulate the skin. Lancome isn't the only brand that offers a great eye cream, and shoppers could instead opt for the Double Serum Eye for £60 from Clarins. This cream-gel visibly aims to smooth the look of fine lines and wrinkles, deeply nourishes and hydrates and visibly reduces puffiness and dark circles. Another choice could be the CeraVe Skin Renewing Eye Cream from Lookfantastic, priced at £23. Described as a lightweight daily eye cream designed to smooth and hydrate skin, it is suitable for all skin types - even sensitive skin and eyes. It is also packed with a peptide complex, hyaluronic acid, caffeine and niacinamide. More than 500 shoppers have given the Lancome Eye Cream a five-star review on Debenhams. One person said: 'I bought this October 2024 and I'm so thankful I did. "I'm 53, I have definitely seen changes in my skin and it was screaming for more than my last products were giving it… While the cost is more than my previous brand, the results outweigh any negativity. I'm now smoother and less tired looking.' Another said: 'Lightweight and works amazingly on me. Keeps my eye area soft and supple.' However, a handful of people weren't as impressed. One wrote: 'Eye cream texture is too thick and not easy to apply on the eyes.' Another said: 'Nice texture but have been using it for over two weeks and am yet to see any results.' A happier shopper added: "It has improved my skin significantly. I was complimented on how much clearer my skin looks."

7 fastest-growing business trends in retail and e-commerce
The retail and e-commerce sectors present significant entrepreneurial opportunities despite global economic shifts and geopolitical uncertainties. For those who can innovate and meet evolving market needs, the landscape remains full of potential. While challenges like inflation and increasing competition persist, some of the fastest-growing retail and e-commerce businesses show resilience by offering consumers greater convenience, affordability and personalized experiences, NEXT says. Many opportunities exist when paired with emerging trends, especially for businesses that tap into growing sectors like wellness and sustainable products. 1. K-Beauty, J-Beauty and other Asian beauty products In the past decade, Korean and Japanese beauty trends in the U.S. have gained tremendous ground. In 2024, Korean cosmetics alone ranked first in the U.S. import cosmetics market share (beating out France's Chanel and Lancome for the first time) capturing 22% of the market with a value of $1.4 billion. Consumers are looking for the next new thing in skin care routines, gentle ingredients and innovative packaging, and Korea and Japan are poised to deliver. Retail beauty entrepreneurs can tap into this market by curating a line of Asian beauty products in a subscription box, online marketplace or a pop-up shop. Also a possibility for entrepreneurs: A beauty concierge service with personal shopping assistance and recommendations, or partnerships with brands or distributors to offer direct-to-consumer products. If you're knowledgeable about what these cosmetics can do, you could also organize workshops and create classes to educate consumers about trends, techniques and hands-on product demos. 2. Secondhand and vintage goods resellers The global secondhand apparel market is projected to reach $350 billion by 2028, driven by sustainability concerns, economic challenges and a love for unique items. And online platforms like ThredUp, Depop, and Poshmark are booming for secondhand apparel resale. But our desire to keep gently used products out of the landfill does not stop with clothing. Niche vintage and secondhand resellers for vintage furniture (like Chairish), used sporting goods (like SidelineSwap), and musical instruments ( are also on the grow. This greater marketplace beyond clothing could be worth $64 billion by 2032. 3. Social commerce-based businesses If you've ever been looking at a silly gadget on Instagram-and then clicked to buy it on the spot-then you're well aware of what it means to be swayed to purchase on social media. Social commerce refers to a change in retail channels rather than a swing in a subset of goods and services. And this new way to buy-integrated online shopping within your favorite social media platform-is expected to exceed the $100 billion mark in 2025 (a 22% growth from last year). This trend opens up opportunities for businesses to reach customers through engaging social content, shoppable posts and partnerships with influencers. Business owners can use social commerce to build a more direct relationship with their audience and drive highly interactive and visually engaging sales. 4. Live shopping and interactive commerce Live shopping isn't new; consumers have been shopping via television since the 1980s. But it's gaining a second wind thanks to social commerce and modern livestreams on e-commerce platforms. While live shopping hasn't caught on in the U.S. at the same pace as Alibaba's Taobao in China, it's gaining momentum with TikTok Shop sales rising 26% in 2024 to almost $72 billion. If you want to move your goods in a new (old) way, add live shopping events to your retail strategy. Make a big splash to launch new products, host exclusive meet-n-greet and Q&A events, and showcase products through interactive demonstrations. And remember that limited-time offers during livestreams can help encourage sales. 5. The expanding pet industry Got a pampered pet at home? You're not alone. Due to the increasing number of pet owners, their humanization of their pets and their willingness to spend a premium, Americans spent over $147 billion on pets in 2023 and growing. The shift in shopping habits for Fido, Fifi and beyond, particularly with Millennials and Gen Z, has led to increased spending on big ticket pet goods and services, as well as health and wellness products. For pet-focused entrepreneurs, this is a golden (retriever?) opportunity. Capitalize on the growing demand for premium pet food and treats, particularly if it has the value-add of organic, grain-free or specialty diet. And there's still an appetite for unique pet apparel, toys and grooming items at a giftable price point. 6. More gig work for more gig workers With inflation and job insecurity pushing 38% of workers to seek freelance employment, small businesses can benefit from this ample and educated workforce by outsourcing specialized tasks like marketing, customer service and web development to freelance workers. Offer flexible roles within your business-such as remote customer support or project-based work-to appeal to gig workers who value autonomy. Be sure to comply with your local state and federal employment laws around payroll and business insurance. And consult with a legal professional on limitations, as some large retailers have faced employee rights claims related to gig work classifications. 7. Personalized nutrition and functional foods Products like gut-healthy kombucha, probiotic snacks and nutrient-packed smoothie kits have grown in popularity for people who want good food that they feel supports their health. And small business owners are growing the functional food market city by city, and neighborhood by neighborhood. A subset of this trend is personalized nutrition (also called precision nutrition), which tailors a diet to a customer's unique health goals. This could mean customized meal plans, tailored nutrition supplements, or products for specific conditions like diabetes or low energy. Customized meals like build-your-own bowls or salads let diners tailor their breakfast, lunch or dinner to their specific dietary need, be it high-protein, low-glycemic, etc. And according to a panel hosted by the Specialty Food Association (SFA), other opportunities for food businesses include customizable snacks, AI-powered nutrition apps, and new foods and flavors with targeted health benefits.
