Superman trailer hidden buzz: Netizens speculate Robert Pattinson's 'Batman may join the DCU due to THIS scene

A fleeting moment in the latest 'Superman' trailer has stirred up fresh speculation about whether Matt Reeves ' 'The Batman' franchise might secretly tie into James Gunn's expanding DC Universe. While the new footage largely centres on showcasing David Corenswet 's Superman and introducing characters like Metamorpho, the Engineer, Guy Gardner, and Ultraman, one rare, minute detail has caught fans' attention: a news headline in the background referring to 'major floods causing suffering.' social media buzz Some viewers are linking this to the devastating Gotham City flood caused by the Riddler in The Batman (2022), suggesting a potential connection between the two superheroes' worlds. Although no official confirmation about such a crossover has been released by the creators, fans can't stop buzzing about the possibility. The trailer also delves deeper into the dynamics of Clark Kent and Lois Lane's relationship, while establishing that Superman will challenge the very idea of a superhero in this iteration of the DCU. Facing resistance from both villains like Lex Luthor and existing members of the superhero community, Corenswet's Superman appears to be entering a world already populated with extraordinary figures. Guy Gardner's presence hints at the Lanterns' upcoming DCU project, while Hawkgirl's inclusion subtly suggests Hawkman's existence. Rick Flag Jr.'s appearance directly connects to Creature Commandos. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Memperdagangkan CFD Emas dengan salah satu spread terendah? IC Markets Mendaftar Undo DC Heads Reiterate the Separation of Two Bat-Worlds James Gunn Explains Why New Superman's Face Looks 'Off' in Latest Teaser | WATCH Though fans may enjoy connecting dots between Reeves' Gotham and the DCU, both James Gunn and Peter Safran have consistently maintained that The Batman exists in a different universe. As Gunn himself has stated, 'It's certainly not the plan' to bring Robert Pattinson 's version of the Dark Knight into the DCU fold. Peter Safran echoed the sentiment, explaining that 'it's imperative' for a new Batman to emerge in The Brave and the Bold, a project set within the official DCU timeline. The first glimpse of this new Batman reportedly came in Creature Commandos, while Reeves is pressing ahead with his own trilogy. The Batman – Part II is scheduled for 2027, with a third instalment also in the works. Director Andy Muschietti has reassured fans that careful planning is underway to avoid overlap or creative collision between the two Batman versions. Parallel Paths The decision to keep the two Batman timelines separate may ultimately benefit both creative teams. Reeves' gritty, noir-style storytelling stands apart from the interconnected, superhero-filled landscape James Gunn is building. If Reeves were required to adapt to fit a shared universe, it could dilute his carefully curated vision. Likewise, the DCU needs a more adaptable Batman who can fluidly exist alongside Superman, Wonder Woman, and other larger-than-life characters. Jonestown Series From Bill Hader & Daniel Zelman In Development At HBO

A series about the Rev. Jim Jones, the charismatic cult leader behind the 1978 mass-murder suicide at the Peoples Temple Agricultural Project (aka Jonestown) in the Guyanese jungle, is in development at HBO, Deadline has confirmed. The project hails from Bill Hader, who also is being eyed to potentially star, and Daniel Zelman. Hader and Zelman will co-write and serve as co-showrunners. Hader also will direct if the project moves forward. Jonestown became internationally infamous in November 1978 when Jones orchestrated a mass murder-suicide of more than 900 members of his Peoples Temple in Jonestown, Guyana. The majority of deaths were caused by cyanide-laced fruit punch, with some being forced to ingest the poison, while others were injected. The poisonings followed the murder of U.S. Congressman Leo Ryan by Temple members at Port Kaituma, ordered by Jones. Four other members committed murder-suicide in Georgetown, Guyana at Jones' command. Jones had led his followers to Guyana from the U.S., promising them a utopian community, but his leadership became increasingly paranoid and controlling. Over the years, there have been several media depictions of the tragedy, including the 2007 History Channel documentary Jonestown: Paradise Lost, 2006 documentary film Jonestown: The Life and Death of Peoples Temple, the 1979 film Guyana: Cult of the Damned, based on the Jonestown tragedy and Guyana Tragedy: The Story of Jim Jones, a 1980 CBS miniseries based on the life of Jones and the Peoples Temple. Hader most recently wrapped a four-season run on HBO's Barry, which he co-created and starred in. He received 16 Emmy nominations for his work on the show, including four shared nominations in the Best Comedy Series category. ‘The Amateur' Team on That 'Challenging' Pool Collapse Scene and Transformative Ending

[This story contains major spoilers from which is now playing in theaters.] New fear unlocked. More from The Hollywood Reporter James Hawes Talks 'The Amateur' Genre Swerve and the "Americana Heart" of 'Lanterns' Coachella 2025: The Best Parties and Events During Weekend One (Updating) 'The Valley' Stars Weigh In on Which 'Vanderpump Rules' Cast Members Should Permanently Join Their Show 'Even looking into it, you would never get me into it,' James Hawes, director of The Amateur, told The Hollywood Reporter about that terrifying pool-collapse moment in the film at last week's premiere. During the scene, Rami Malek's character, Charles Heller, a CIA decoder, confronts one of the men involved in the murder of his wife, Sarah (played by Rachel Brosnahan), on top of a pool based in Madrid. As Charles isn't getting the answer he needs about who actually pulled the trigger on his wife, he pulls the trigger on the remote, which shatters the pool's glass floor, and Mishka Blazhic (Marc Rissmann) falls to his death. 'The idea is inspired in the 1981 novel by a giant aquarium with people swimming in it, and so we've taken that and transitioned it and developed it into a skytop pool,' Hawes said. He added how the scene required the team to build 'a life-size section of it in the studio so that we could explode it and drop it.' However, since it was also shot on location, Hawes reiterates that 'It's not just all CGI' and 'there's a fair bit of real effects in there.' The pool, which actually exists in London, at the Embassy Gardens, drew some obstacles for the creative team, such as the constant moving of locations. They also had to secure permission from the Embassy to use drones for the sequence. 'That was our first and second day of shooting,' Dan Wilson, a producer on the film, told THR about the scene. 'For this movie, it was challenging because we have that kind of mix of tricky big set pieces, the pool being the biggest, but also a really kind of heavy location-driven show every single day pretty much we're moving on to the location. … Adding those set pieces like the pool are really complicated, take time to work out. It was tricky but it was a blast to shot that.' However, the scene that the 'actual breaking of the pool that you see where the guy goes down, that was one shot,' Wilson continued. 'We did't want to re-set that.' While the sequence added to Charles' mission of avenging his deceased wife, it's not until the end that Charles gets his real revenge with the attackers — and he didn't need to kill Schiller to do so. Instead, he sets them up to be arrested. Charles' growth throughout the film begins with him as a 'geek' who is 'scared to go behind the wheel of his own car,' Hawes described. But through the skills he's gained, at the end of the film, 'he takes to the skies.' 'He's free. He's become a new man. That is a kind of liberation,' Hawes continued. 'It's the kind of justice and it's what his wife would have wanted for him.' While spy thriller's have been all the rage in recent years with Black Doves, The Day of the Jackal and Slow Horses (which Hawes also directed), Hawes spoke about why he believes the genre sparks such an interest with audiences. 'Especially in unstable times, people look to see what happens. Most spy thrillers turn the world upside down. They invert the world, and they throw our hero into a world that should be normal but where everything black is turned white and vice versa,' he said. 'Therefore, it's something about the world we live in. We love the idea of a single hero thrown into that kind of danger and having to cope with it.' The Amateur is now out in theaters. Nathan Fillion to Play Guy Gardner in DC's "Lanterns"

Yara Sameh HBO's upcoming DC series 'Lanterns' has tapped Nathan Fillion to play Guy Gardner, one of multiple Green Lanterns in the cast. This will be far from Fillion's first time playing a Lantern. He debuted as one of DC's green heroes in the 2011 animated film 'Green Lantern: Emerald Knights.' In it, he was the voice actor for Hal Jordan, one of many members of the Green Lantern Corps. He played the role again in 2012's 'Justice League: Doom,' 2013's 'Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox,' 2015's 'Justice League: Throne of Atlantis,' 2018's 'The Death of Superman' and 2019's 'Reign of the Supermen.' Each of the animated films was a straight-to-DVD release. In 2023, he was cast as a Green Lantern in James Gunn's live-action film 'Superman,' but as Gardner instead of Jordan. The film opens in theaters via Warner Bros. this July. 'Lanterns' stars Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart. Per the official logline, the series 'follows new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.' Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan and Ulrich Thomsen also star. Chris Mundy serves as showrunner of 'Lanterns,' and wrote the pilot with Damon Lindelof and Tom King. All three executive produce alongside Gunn, Peter Safran, Ron Schmidt and James Hawes, who is directing the first two episodes. Stephen Williams, Geeta Vasant Patel and Alik Sakharov will also direct. The series entered production in February. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Egypt confirms denial of airspace access to US B-52 bombers News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia News Australia Fines Telegram $600,000 Over Terrorism, Child Abuse Content Lifestyle Pistachio and Raspberry Cheesecake Domes Recipe Arts & Culture Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's $4.7M LA Home Burglarized Videos & Features Bouchra Dahlab Crowned Miss Arab World 2025 .. ‘The White Lotus' Star Jason Isaacs Calls Out 'Double Standard For Men' After Gayle King Asks About Protesthic Penis Debate

Jason Isaacs shut down the debate about his full frontal scene on The White Lotus during an interview on CBS Mornings. The actor made an appearance on the daytime show and Gayle King brought up the debate on social media wether Isaacs used a prostethic penis on the HBO drama. More from Deadline Jason Ritter Joins 'Lanterns' DC Series At HBO Simon Maxwell Unpacks Motive Pictures' Transatlantic Drama Strategy & Reveals Projects With Marianne Jean-Baptiste & Alison Brie, Philip K. Dick Drama, Partnership With Westward Prods. 'Industry': Kiernan Shipka & 'Ted Lasso's Toheeb Jimoh Among Four Season 4 Cast Additions 'A lot of people are debating it. It's all over the internet,' Isaacs said when he was asked if he used a prosthetic for his nude scene. King noted that he had not answered the question, to which Isaacs said, 'I'll tell you why because the best actress this year is Mikey Madison at the Oscars and I don't see anyone discussing her vulva, which is on television all the time and I'm not talking about Swedish cars.' 'I think it's interesting that there's a double standard for men, but when women are naked, Margaret Qualley in The Substance, no one would dream of talking to her about her genitalia or her nipples or any of those things,' he continued. 'So, it's odd that there's a double standard.' Isaacs acknowledged dodging the question 'because I don't think that people really want to know how the sausage is made,' adding, 'I genuinely think it would be odd when there are characters — and some of the women are naked in here — it'd be odd if you were sitting here. And you would never dream of discussing their genitalia, not for a second.' CBS Mornings co-host Tony Dokoupil added that they had been debating about the prostethic penis all morning. Isaacs asked, 'What is your obsession?' adding, 'Mike White is a brilliant writer; it's the best series on television for a long time. And what is the obsession with penises? It's an odd thing.'
