Las Cruces City Council approves 5 liquor license transfers

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Las Cruces City Council approved the transfer of five dispenser liquor licenses to a different owner, the City announced on Wednesday, Feb. 5. According to the City, the New Mexico Alcoholic Beverage Control Division requires local government entities to conduct a public hearing for each liquor license transfer. Las Cruces City Council held five consecutive public hearings and approved the transfers. The liquor licenses are for package sales only and all five licenses were transferred from Brewer Oil Company to New Mexico Company Operations LLC. The transfers are as follows, according to the City: Nacho Shell, 2512 E. Lohman Ave. University Shell, 1305 S. Solano Dr. Country Club Shell, 2901 N. Main St. Triviz Shell, 3040 N. Main St. Holiday Shell, 2645 S. Valley Dr. In addition to the transfers, the City Council approved a resolution urging New Mexico legislature to create an alcohol harms alleviation fund, the City said. The City Council meeting was held on Tuesday, Feb. 4, instead of Monday, Feb. 3 to accommodate City staff and elected officials who traveled to Santa Fe for Las Cruces Day at the 2025 New Mexico Legislative Session, the City said.
