Man charged with murder, armed robbery after 1 dead in shooting at Baton Rouge gas station
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Baton Rouge Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a shooting that left one dead at the Exxon gas station in April.
Police responded to the scene around 12:13 a.m. April 25, and learned that a man had robbed the victim and shot him before fleeing the scene on a bike. The victim, identified as Alejandro Gonzales-Martinez, 30, was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries.
On Friday, police announced that Latrell Daniels, 20, had been taken into custody and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. He was charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery.
The shooting is still under investigation. Police said Daniels has a criminal history for simple burglary and theft.
