Pennsylvania man charged after fatal 2024 overdose
WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Latrobe man has been charged after he allegedly provided the drugs that led to another man's fatal overdose.
Joseph Bowser, 39, is facing charges after the Latrobe Police Department and Westmoreland County District Attorney's Office investigated a drug overdose death. On April 5, 2024, officers responded to a home on Raymond Avenue for an unresponsive male.
Jonathan Campbell, 29, was discovered to have died of a drug overdose. Forensic analysis of the drugs found in Campbell's apartment showed that they tested positive for fentanyl and xylazine, according to a release.

A relative of Campbell told officers that the day before his death he had walked to a local business with him. Campbell was supposed to allegedly meet up with someone afterward.
Investigators seized Campbell's phone and found multiple messages with Bowser through a Facebook account. According to the Westmoreland County District Attorney's Office, around 20 messages were found between the two discussing selling drugs and scheduling to meet.
Latrobe Police obtained video surveillance of the area where the two scheduled to meet and found that the video showed Campbell going to purchase drugs. Bowser allegedly admitted to meeting Campbell but refused to answer any other questions.
Bowser was arraigned on charges of drug delivery resulting in death, delivery of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility.
