Miamisburg schools superintendent heading to Mason
MIAMISBURG, Ohio (WDTN) — The superintendent for Miamisburg City Schools will be transitioning into a new role at a new school district.
Miamisburg's current superintendent, Dr. Laura Blessing, will be transitioning to Chief Talent Officer at Mason City Schools. The announcement was shared after the Mason Board of Education approved her appointment during their meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 28.

Blessing has served as superintendent in Miamisburg since 2020, helping to navigate the school district through a global pandemic and beyond.
Speaking on her time at Miamisburg, Blessing says the community has left a profound mark on her.
'I will forever cherish the memories we've created and the resilience we've shown together. While this decision to leave was not easy, I am excited to begin this new chapter where I can focus on supporting educators and staff while continuing to make a positive impact on the lives of students,' Blessing said.
The Miamisburg Board of Education says they are committed to a smooth transition. In the next few weeks, they will begin making plans on how to select a new superintendent.
Blessing will remain in her role until a plan is developed, according to the district.
