After the Barbie pink of 2023 and last summer's Brat green, the colour of this season is considerably more mellow: butter yellow. It's good news for those who favour a lighter palette over rainbow brights, while still bringing a welcome dose of sunshine as the temperatures heat up.
'I love butter yellow as I feel it heralds summer coming,' says stylist and fashion broadcaster Laura Mullett (@lauramullettstylist). 'That kind of soft, banana milkshake shade is so complimentary on so many different skin tones – even though it's pastel, it doesn't draw colour from your face the same way as its candy-floss coloured counterparts.'
