Karnataka's economic ranking improved under the Congress regime, says KPCC secretary
Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) secretary Lavanya Ballal said on Monday that the State's economic ranking under the Congress regime has improved from seventh to third in the last two years.
Addressing the press in Udupi, Ms. Ballal said that the government's guarantee schemes have lifted many people economically.
Ms. Ballal said that the State stood second in tax collection in the country and is committed to creating more job opportunities for the youth.
The KPCC secretary said that BJP-ruled States have begun emulating Karnataka's 'guarantee' model, even though the BJP leaders criticised the guarantee schemes, saying they would push the State into bankruptcy. However, the State's financial health is stable, she said.
Ms. Ballal said Congress workers from Udupi district will participate in the 'Sadhana Samavesha' in Hospet on Tuesday.
