MoEHE lifts ban on students who have financial dues

Tribune News Network Doha The Private Schools Licensing Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has issued a circular lifting the ban on students who have financial arrears. This decision comes as part of the ministry's commitment to ensuring the continuity of students' educational paths and preventing them from being deprived of education due to financial obligations. According to a report in a local Arabic daily, the decision also preserves the rights of private schools and kindergartens to collect their financial dues in accordance with approved regulations and procedures, enabling them to continue operating their educational institutions with the required efficiency and quality. In accordance with the provisions of Law No 23 of 2015 regulating private schools, and Ministerial Resolution No 9 of 1996 regarding tuition fees, and in addition to Circular No (26) of 2024 regarding the controls required to be observed by private schools in collection of tuition fee checks from students' parents at the beginning of the school year. It was decided as follows: First: As of September 30, 2025, the blocking feature in the National Student Information System (NSIS) will be removed for all students in private schools and kindergartens who have financial dues. Second: All private schools and kindergartens are committed to taking all appropriate alternative regulatory measures and providing the necessary guarantees from parents to collect the due fees, ensuring that private schools and kindergartens are entitled to their financial dues in accordance with the legal frameworks approved by the state. Third: Emphasising the importance of updating payment and collection mechanisms for the 2025/2026 academic year, in line with Ministerial Resolution No 9 of 1996, which grants a one-month grace period for payment of fees due for the semester.
