CM: Maharashtra a frontrunner in framing people-centric legislation
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday said that Maharashtra has emerged as a frontrunner in framing people-centric legislation, with several of its laws being replicated not only by other Indian states but also by countries abroad.
Speaking at the golden jubilee celebrations of the Law and Judiciary Department at the Sahyadri Guest House, Fadnavis unveiled the official emblem of the Legislative Branch and released five publications brought out by the department.
'Maharashtra is a leading state in every sector, including legislative innovation. The department has played a crucial role in shaping laws that directly benefit citizens, and many of these have set a benchmark nationally,' Fadnavis said.
Stressing that laws must evolve with time and continue to reflect the changing needs of the public, he said, 'The government is committed to ensuring that our laws are drafted with precision and clarity, always keeping public welfare at the centre. The books released today will serve as a valuable legacy for future lawmakers and legal professionals.'
Fadnavis said that proposals to strengthen the department have received a positive response from the government and decisions will be taken up soon.
