Target of drug trafficking raid arrested
NEW CASTLE, Pa. (WKBN) — Police say the target of a multi-agency drug trafficking investigation has been arrested.
On March 6, narcotics investigators across Lawrence County came together to serve a search warrant in the 1600 block of Hanna Street in New Castle.
Juel Lewis Jr., who police say is also known as BEAR, was identified as the target of the investigation. Police arrested Lewis during a search-warrant raid of the residence on Hanna Street.
Investigators also reported recovering the following contraband inside the house:
195.1 gross grams of heroin
73.1 gross grams of cocaine
17 oxycodone tablets
3 digital scales
3 cell phones
A12-gauge shotgun
A Ruger LCP

Lewis is facing three felony charges of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance; and a misdemeanor charge of use/possession of drug paraphernalia.
He remains in Lawrence County Prison after being unable to post $100,000 bail, according to court records. He is set to appear in court for a preliminary hearing next week.
The investigation was credited to collaboration between the New Castle Police Department, the Lawrence County HIDTA, and the Lawrence County District Attorney's Drug Task Force.
