Industry Minister meets Lebanese Business Group, supports private sector growth
Minister of Industry Joe Issa El Khoury met with a delegation from the Lebanese Business Group, headed by Dr. Bassem Bou Abboud, at the ministry's headquarters.
The meeting focused on the broader economic situation and the current state of the industrial sector.
The delegation included Vice President Hadi Soubra, Secretary Karina Hasri, and board members Alphonse Debs, Ziad Shehabeddine, and Rola Khoury.
Minister El Khoury welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed the government's commitment, both collective and personal, to fostering a business-friendly environment. He emphasized that economic growth is a central pillar of Lebanon's financial, economic, and social recovery.
Dr. Bou Abboud introduced the group's mission to support Lebanese companies by promoting advanced technologies and artificial intelligence. He stressed the importance of taking tangible steps to improve the business and investment climate, especially in the industrial sector, which he described as having strong growth potential.
He also highlighted the urgency of enacting key financial reform laws and reactivating the banking sector, describing it as a critical driver of economic recovery and expansion both locally and internationally.
