PETALING JAYA : A fatal road accident involving three vehicles at Paya Rumput, Melaka, this morning has led to the discovery of more than 460 packets of drugs, police said.
Melaka police chief Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the accident occurred at 7.54am on Lebuh AMJ and involved a motorcycle, a car and a lorry.
The 22-year-old motorcyclist was killed at the scene after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing into the lorry.
An investigation revealed that the motorcyclist had earlier collided with the rear of a car, causing him to veer into the path of the lorry.
Dzulkhairi said police later found several packets suspected to contain drugs at the scene, believed to be in the motorcyclist's possession.
'A total of 462 packets were seized, comprising 450 packets of heroin weighing 688.81gm and 12 packets of methamphetamine weighing 13.41gm,' he said.
