Kim Go-eun to reprise role in season 3 of "Yumi's Cells"
15 May - Kim Go-eun is excited to return for the third season of her hit series, "Yumi's Cells".
The actress, who spoke about the new season recently, stated, "It's an honour and a joy to be able to continue telling Yumi's story, which has been loved by so many viewers."
"As an actor, spending this much time with one character is a rare and meaningful experience. I hope to portray the inflection points in Yumi's life with care and warmth in Season Three. This journey with Yumi began back in 2021, and I hope to bring it to a heartfelt conclusion," she said.
Based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name by Lee Dong-geon, Kim first played the titular role back in 2021, where the drama tells the story of an ordinary office worker from the perspective of the brain cells in her head.
The first season saw her character's growth and transformation after a failed relationship, while the second season is about her relationship with her co-worker Yoo Ba-bi.
In the third season, Kim returns as Yumi, who has now achieved her dream of becoming a writer but has her world turned upside down when a new romance arrives.
The third season reunites the original creative team, including director Lee Sang-yeob and writers Song Jae-jeong and Kim Kyung-ran and is slated for release in the first half of 2026.
