Man has three charges dropped for Powys assault and damage
THE case against a man accused of assault, criminal damage and perverting the course of justice has been dismissed.
Lee Grealis, 49, had been due to stand trial on the three matters next month, but will now not have to, after all three were dismissed by prosecutors at Caernarfon Crown Court on Thursday, June 19.
Grealis had appeared at Mold Crown Court in January, where he pleaded not guilty to three offences which allegedly happened over a 10-day period last year.
The Oxfordshire man denied causing actual bodily harm to a woman on December 14 and then causing criminal damage to items including her Christmas decorations on December 22.
He also pleaded not guilty to intending to pervert the course of public justice by sending a threatening message to another woman on Christmas Eve.
Laura Knightly told the court that the case had been listed for trial on July 28.
'The case has been under review and I am now instructed to offer no evidence to the three charges,' she said.
Judge Timothy Petts said he would formally enter pleas of not guilty to the charges and said the case against Grealis was now dismissed.
