Lisselton's Jack Kennelly and his Random Bag syndicate fancied to win A3 550 final with Oreo Ollie
Oreo Ollie gets the vote to claim the €10,000 winner's purse ahead of the other semi-final winner, Killacolla Hill, as well as Headleys Trump and Kennelly's Baby Don't Dally Kerryman The way has been cleared for the final of the Lee Strand A3 550 Sweepstake at Tralee this Saturday night and, on semi-final running and because he landed trap 1 in the draw afterwards, Oreo Ollie is going to be favourite to claim the magnificent winner's purse of €10,000 for Lisselton trainer, Jack Kennelly, and the Random Bag syndicate which he heads up. Kennelly will also have a second finalist in another syndicate dog, Baby Don't Dally, and, with the young man on a high after brilliantly winning the final of the Islandbridge Open 350 Sweepstake (winner, €5,000) at Shelbourne Park with Sogna Ancora, he most definitely has become the man to beat.

Cotter's Headleys Trump and Kennelly's Oreo Ollie the best of the A3 550 first round heat winners
Other sweepstake action last Friday at Tralee saw the James O'Regan-trained Woodcliff Kaboom establish himself as the clear favourite to win a novice 3 525 sweepstake First round form worked out really well in three of the four second-round heats of the Lee Strand A3 550 Sweepstake at Tralee Track last Friday night and it could well be that Knocknagoshel owner, Nick E Cotter, will be the one collecting the magnificent winner's purse of €10,000 come final night. That's because his charge, Headleys Trump, which is an April '23 son of Coolavanny Hoffa and Mercenary Mary, clocked the fastest time of 29.72 in winning heat 4 at odds of 4/5. Mind you, he only beat flying finisher, Killacolla Hill, by a neck, but his early pace is more than impressive. Although he meets another very good second-round winner in the Jack Kennelly-trained Oreo Ollie, Headleys Trump has the early pace to get himself into the strongest of winning position from trap 3 in the first semi-final.

Brosna syndicate owned dog is favourite to win €15,000 prize at Shelbourne Park
In the first semi-final last Saturday, Callaway Knegare gave a powerful exhibition of tracking to score by four and a half lengths in 32.10, which was only 19 spots outside Laughil Duke's 12-year-old track record. Considering that the time in the second semi-final was a long way back on 32.55 (by Ballyhoo0ly Bruno), Callaway Knegare is going to be a strong favourite to win the final. He runs from trap 3. **************** ON the same Shelbourne Park programme, Liam Dowling had two runners in the final of the Suncroft Puppy Oaks (winner, €10,000) and Ballymac Mint (4/1) proved to be the best of them by coming third to even-money favourite, Shebetheone, for a consolation prize of €1,500. Dowling's other finalist, Ballymac Riddle, which is owned by his son, Shane, finished fifth for a consolation prize of €600. **************** LISSELTON trainer Jack Kennelly was involved in the semi-finals of a lesser sweepstake at the Dublin venue, which was for A0 class over 550yds (winner, €2,000), and he did well to provide the winner of the first semi-final in Teeming Spirit (30.06) and the runner-up in the second semi-final in Torpedo Turtle, which was beaten by two and a half lengths in 29.83. Teeming Spirit is owned by a syndicate headed up by Tralee accountant, Des Grace, and the Tote trio paid a remarkable €818.10. The night at the Dublin venue started well for Kerry because Daleroad Duke won the opening AA0 575 in 31.05 for Lixnaw owner Thomas O'Keeffe, and trainer Patrick Guilfoyle. **************** TOP-CLASS racing at Tralee Track this weekend, with first-round heats of the Lee Strand A3 550 Sweepstake on Friday and the semi-finals of two sweepstakes sponsored by the Clifford family on Saturday, plus first-round heats of a novice 3 sweepstake. **************** On going that worsened from .30 slow to .50 slow because of heavy underfoot conditions, Cahirard Kango clocked the fastest estimated time of 28.84 (29.24 minus .40) at last week's Tuesday SIS meeting at Tralee when winning an A2 525 for trainer, Michael Baker, and Ventry owner, Anthony O'Sullivan.
