Nicole Kidman to star in TV adaptation of 'Girls and Their Horses'
Hollywood star Nicole Kidman will star in and executive produce a new series adapted from Girls and Their Horses by Eliza Jane Brazier. Brazier's novel, set in the idyllic community of Rancho Santa Fe, California, follows the newly wealthy Parker family as their daughters enter the fiercely competitive world of horseback riding, reported People. The murder mystery is currently in development and will be co-produced by Legendary Television and Amazon MGM Studios for Prime Video. Jenna Lamia will serve as showrunner and executive producer, as per the outlet. The actress has starred in several successful book-to-television adaptations in recent years, including Big Little Lies and Nine Perfect Strangers, reported People. The casting details are still under wraps. Meanwhile, Kidman will be seen in the sequel to the 1998's Practical Magic. The film also stars Sandra Bullock. The movie, directed by Susanne Bier, is set to be released on September 18, 2026, and will feature Bullock and Kidman reprising their roles as witch sisters Sally and Gillian Owens. The film is based on Alice Hoffman's novel and will explore themes of sisterhood, female empowerment, and domestic abuse with a touch of supernatural fun. Susanne Bier is directing the film, which Bullock, Kidman, and Denise Di Novi are producing. The script is co-written by Akiva Goldman and Georgia Pritchett.

Nicole Kidman to star in murder mystery series Girls and Their Horses
Los Angeles, Jun 5 (PTI) Hollywood star Nicole Kidman is set to headline "Girls and Their Horses", a new murder mystery series for streaming service Prime Video. The show, which will be co-produced by Legendary Television and Amazon MGM Studios, is based on author Eliza Jane Brazier's 2023 novel of the same title. Brazier will write the pilot episode and executive produce alongside Jenna Lamia, who will also serve as the showrunner, according to entertainment news outlet Variety. 'Girls and Their Horses' reunites Kidman and Lamia after the popular miniseries "The Perfect Couple". Lamia had created the Netflix series, which Kidman starred and executive produced. 'A murder-mystery set in the beachside equestrian community of Rancho Santa Fe, California, 'Girls and Their Horses' follows the newly wealthy Parker family as they aim to position their teenage daughters in the rarified, sometimes-deadly world of competitive horse riding," read the official logline of the new show. In addition to starring in the series, Kidman will executive produce along with Per Saari under their Blossom Films banner. Kidman has established herself as one of the most prolific actors on television. Since 2017, she has headlined a string of acclaimed series, including "Big Little Lies", "Top of the Lake: China Girl", "The Undoing", "Nine Perfect Strangers", "Lioness", "Expats", and "The Perfect Couple". She was recently seen in the second season of "Nine Perfect Strangers". She will also feature in two more upcoming series -- "Scarpetta" at Prime Video and "Margo's Got Money Troubles" at Apple TV .

The tangled web of secrets, lies and riches on the ranch eventually leaves someone dead, leaving readers to follow along as the mystery unfolds. The 57-year-old star will portray the Parker family matriarch, reports The murder mystery is currently in development and will be co-produced by Legendary Television and Amazon MGM Studios for Prime Video, according to Variety. Jenna Lamia will serve as showrunner and executive producer. Lamia is no stranger to book adaptations, having most recently adapted Elin Hilderbrand's The Perfect Couple for Netflix in 2024, another thriller series adaptation starring Kidman. Kidman has previously starred in several successful book-to-television adaptations in recent years, including Big Little Lies and Nine Perfect Strangers. Talking about the actress, Kidman is known for her work in film and television productions across many genres, she has consistently ranked among the world's highest-paid actresses since the late 1990s. Her accolades include an Academy Award, two Primetime Emmy Awards, a British Academy Film Award, and six Golden Globe Awards. Kidman started acting in Australia with the films Bush Christmas and BMX Bandits. Her breakthrough came with lead roles in Dead Calm and the miniseries Bangkok Hilton. "Murdle" TV Series Based on Murder Mystery Puzzles in Works
Yara Sameh In a competitive situation, Amazon MGM Studios has landed for development Murdle, a scripted adaptation of G. T. Karber's multi-volume collection of murder mystery puzzles, from Legendary Television. Written by Jon Croker (Paddington) based on a story by Karber, Murdle is a quirky, voice-driven series in the vein of Knives Out and The Gentlemen about two rival members of a London-based detective club, who are forced to work together despite their very different approaches to solving murders. The project originated with Jessica Rhoades' Pacesetter which took the pitch to Legendary Television last fall. Amazon MGM Studios will now co-develop and co-produce the series with Legendary and Pacesetter for Prime Video. Executive producing Murdle are Croker, Karber as well as Rhoades and Alison Mo Massey for Pacesetter. This marks the latest high-profile murder mystery series project with a comedic bent as the genre has been on the upswing since the 2019 release of Rian Johnson's Knives Out. Murdle is looking to join Hulu's Only Murders In The Building, Johnson's Poker Face for Peacock, CBS' Elsbeth, HBO's The White Lotus and Netflix's The Residence, among others. To date, there have been five volumes in G. T. Karber's collection of murder mystery puzzles. The first Murdle tome was a Sunday Times #1 bestseller and won both Overall Book of the Year and Best Nonfiction Book at the 2024 British Book Awards. In addition to his work on Paddington 2, Croker co-wrote the Academy Award-winning short film "The Boy, The Mole, The Fox And The Horse" based on Charlie Mackesy's bestseller.
