Victoria Park Road will be completely open as runners will use the cycle path.
Organisers say all road closures will be lifted as soon as the safety of runners, spectators and visitors can be assured.
Tristan Batley-Kyle, operations director at Jane Tomlinson's Run For All, said: "We look forward to welcoming participants of all abilities to take on the Leicester 10K.
"Unfortunately, with an event of this size, a certain amount of disruption is unavoidable and we would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused."
