Malta delegation explores tourism and business opportunities in Vidarbha

Nagpur: The Association for Industrial Development (AID), an organisation promoting industries in the region, hosted a high-level delegation from the Republic of Malta to explore new opportunities for bilateral collaboration with businesses in Vidarbha. It was mooted that Malta can even market the forests of Vidarbha among the tourists visiting the European country. The delegation was headed by Malta's Governor General International Organisation for Diplomatic Relations (IODR) Lello Marra, International Secretary Marcello Patti, and Correspondent Diplomat Afzal Mitha. Talking to media, Mitha said Malta, which is predominantly a tourism-based economy, may also consider promoting jungle safaris in India among the tourists coming there. The delegation was taken to Pench forest reserve. It was suggested that they could attract tourists who visit Malta to also explore the forests in Vidarbha, said Mitha. As the delegates met businessmen, Vidarbha's rising profile as a tourism destination was highlighted in light of Samruddhi Expressway and other developments, said a press release.
