PKR Federal Territories leaders support Nurul Izzah as deputy president, says Fahmi
PETALING JAYA: PKR Federal Territories has firm confidence that Nurul Izzah Anwar will receive solid support as the key figure who will bring new energy to strengthen the party's machinery in facing GE16 (16th General Election), says Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi who is also Lembah Pantai Division chief, in a Facebook post on Wednesday (May 7) said,
"The challenges and changes in the current political landscape of the nation demand bold steps to strengthen PKR as a party that consistently leads the country's administration.
Meanwhile, twelve PKR leaders from the Federal Territories have also expressed their unwavering support for Nurul Izzah Anwar to continue the reformist struggle by taking on the responsibility of deputy president for the 2025–2028 term.
Among them are Bandar Tun Razak division chief Datuk Azman Abidin; Putrajaya division chief Muhammad Fikri Abdul Aziz; Wangsa Maju division chief Andre Lai; Kepong division chief Neo Wong; Titiwangsa division chief Syed Badli Shah; and Setiawangsa division chief Datuk Afdlin Shauki.
Also included are Batu division chief Asheeq Ali; Seputeh division chief Thiyagaraj Sankaranarayanan; Bukit Bintang division chief Anwar Pawan Chik; Segambut division chief Vignesvaran Gunasagaran; Labuan division chief Simsudin Sidek; and Cheras division chief Mohamad a joint statement published by Sinar Harian, the 13 leaders said that current political challenges and shifts in the political landscape demand a bold step to strengthen PKR as a party that consistently leads the country's administration.
"Through a series of grassroots engagements at the national level, PKR Federal Territories is confident that Nurul Izzah will receive strong support as a key figure who will bring new energy to strengthen the party's machinery ahead of the upcoming 16th General Election (GE16).
"The title 'Princess of Reformasi' was bestowed upon her, having long stood on her own feet and built her name as a party leader, deeply intertwined with the struggles that have given Nurul Izzah vast experience in steering the party ship.
"As the main driver of the 'Ayuh Malaysia' campaign, she has contributed significantly to reviving the spirit of party members and served as a unifying figure in bringing PKR together as one big family—eventually leading to the party's victory in governing the country today," the statement said on Wednesday (May 7).The 12 leaders, including Fahmi, added that the support is not based solely on personal ties or nostalgic memories of past struggles, but on belief in her capacity and integrity as the party's future leader.
