Somerset parkrunner qualifies for Ironman World Championships
A Somerset parkrun regular has qualified for the Ironman World Championships.
Adam Fieldhouse, from Dulverton, has run the Longrun Meadow parkrun course in Taunton 20 times since November 2019, leading the field in 10 of these.
He has a personal best of 17 minutes and five seconds and has finished first in his last five runs.
Mr Fieldhouse comes from a family of runners and is also a director of Fieldhouse Engineering Company in Taunton.
He has achieved other impressive feats, including winning the Snowdon Marathon in 2022 and finishing 15th in the Edinburgh Marathon in 2024 with a time of two hours, 37 minutes, and 20 seconds.
He also holds the Lemur Loop course record of 12 x 10km laps, a total of 120km, in 11 hours and 45 minutes and won the Purbeck Challenge in 2025.
Mr Fieldhouse started his running journey at Wellington School and is a member of the Quantock Orienteers.
The Ironman World Championships will take place in Nice, France, later this year.
