Darlington County man allegedly had child sexual abuse materials
DARLINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A 27-year-old Hartsville man is facing five counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, according to the South Carolina Attorney General's Office.
Leo James Irvine was arrested Monday by investigators with the attorney general's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, who said a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led them to him.
Investigators said Irvine distributed files of child sexual abuse material. Each count is punishable by up to 10 years in prison. He is being held on a $50,000 bond at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center.
Online jail records indicate that the crimes happened between March 20-24, but no additional information was immediately available.
The Darlington County Sheriff's Office, Homeland Security Investigations, and U.S. Secret Service, all members of the task force, assisted with this investigation.
