Deadly crash in Madison County
LENOX, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Madison County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly car crash that took place on Tuesday, March 4.
Around 7 p.m., police responded to a call about a car accident involving a sedan and pick-up truck on State Route 31.
Once they arrived, they found a 2022 Chrysler 300 — driven by 87-year-old Leo O'Donnell — traveling eastbound when it crossed into the westbound lane and hit a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 43-year-old.
O'Donnell was pronounced dead at the scene and a 42-year-old passenger in the truck was taken to the Oneida City Hospital for further treatment.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the investigation is ongoing. They request that any crash witnesses contact their Investigations Division.
