Mexico donates books on its heritage to Bibliotheca Alexandrina - City Lights - Life & Style
Ambassador of Mexico to Egypt Leonora Rueda met with Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, on 18 February to deliver a collection of heritage books about Mexico enhancing cultural ties between Egypt and Mexico.

The Embassy of Mexico in Egypt facilitated a donation in collaboration with the General Directorate of Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) and the Network of Libraries and Archives of the Historic Centre of Mexico City (RBACH).
This donation included 32 publications covering various aspects of Mexican history, culture, and heritage. These works will enrich the Bibliotheca Alexandrina's collection, offering Egyptian researchers, academics, and readers greater access to resources on Mexico's cultural legacy.
During the event, Ambassador Leonora Rueda remarked, 'This initiative reflects Mexico's commitment to diplomatic culture as a means of fostering dialogue and cooperation between our two countries.'
She also stressed that the influence of culture and knowledge transcends borders and barriers and enhances mutual understanding and rapprochement between peoples.

Through this gesture, Mexico reaffirms its dedication to preserving and sharing cultural heritage while strengthening ties with Egypt. Ambassador Rueda emphasized that culture and knowledge transcend borders, fostering mutual understanding and bringing nations closer together.
In response, Zayed expressed his gratitude for the donation and highlighted the importance of collaboration between Egypt and Mexico. He also underscored the library's role as a hub for spreading knowledge, raising awareness, and promoting cultural dialogue.
