She said: 'It broke my heart how scared he was.' The lad of ten who made the threat was traced and will be reported to authorities. His younger pal was also identified as it emerged the weapon he pulled from a bag was a toy replica. The horror on May 11 comes amid growing concerns over youth knife crime after 16-year-old Kayden Moy was allegedly stabbed to death at Irvine beach, Ayrshire, ten days ago. The latest victim's frightened mum claims one of the two tearaways had previously threatened to stab her child. She told The Scottish Sun: 'My son told me that a few weeks earlier, the wee boy who had the knife said to him in class, 'I'm going to stab you. I've got my big brother's knife'. 'Then, that Sunday, my son was out with two friends and two boys pulled out a knife each and threatened them. 'My son phoned me crying, saying, 'They have blades'. 'He sounded terrified. His voice was trembling. He said, 'They had a knife each and they've got it out at the park'. 'I kept him on the phone and his dad drove to the park. He was telling me, 'Mum, I'm terrified'.' The primary age louts fled when the boy's dad arrived and the parents called the police. Police probing death of 'stabbed' teen Kayden Moy swoop on Scots park They also contacted Whatriggs Primary — where it's claimed the boy has been the victim of bullying — the following day but claim their concerns haven't been taken seriously. The mum added: 'My wee boy didn't want to go to school in case they took the knife out again. 'He had said to me, 'What happens if they bring it in their school bag?' 'We were in the car when the radio came on about Kayden Moy having been stabbed. Then there was a notification on my phone that he had died. 'My son said, 'That could have happened to us last week when we were at the park'.' The boy's father added: 'It's terrifying to think kids as young as nine are roaming the streets armed with weapons.' Police Scotland said: 'A boy, aged 10, will be reported to the relevant authorities.' East Ayrshire Council said: 'All reports of bullying are taken very seriously by the head and her team.' We told how a boy of seven recently allegedly took a blade in to Heathfield Primary in Ayr to attack another pupil. Two boys, 17, have been charged with murdering Kayden. Another lad, 16, faces a murder bid rap over another alleged stabbing at Portobello beach, Edinburgh, a day earlier.

Previously called A'Choille, the stage – famed for hosting secret sets and intimate performances – will now be known as The Park Bar Stage, paying homage to the iconic Argyle Street pub renowned for its raucous ceilidhs, live trad music, and electric atmosphere. The Park Bar has long been a driving force in Glasgow's folk music scene and a cherished gathering place for Gaelic speakers, welcoming those who've moved south from the Highlands and Islands. The renamed stage will kick off the weekend in style with a Friday night performance from Park Bar legend John Carmichael, leading the charge with Carmichael's Ceilidh. Recently under new ownership after hitting the market last year, The Park Bar remains a favourite. Folk-pop sensation Tide Lines will headline the festival's main stage on Friday night, marking the start of an unforgettable weekend. The band's journey began in Glasgow's traditional music heartland – The Park Bar. Frontman Robert Robertson said: 'The Park Bar means so much to Tide Lines – a couple of us met and played our very first gig there before starting the band. 'It's brilliant to see its iconic legacy being honoured by The Reeling. We can't wait to take to the main stage on Friday night.' Festival founder and co-director of Skye Live, Michael Pellegrotti, said: 'Renaming our second stage The Park Bar Stage is a tribute to a place that means so much – to Glasgow's Gaelic community, to traditional music, and to all of us at The Reeling. Major TRNSMT act Kneecap in doubt after member charged with TERROR offences 'It's a celebration of the energy, community, and music that The Park Bar has championed for decades. Honouring that legacy felt like the perfect fit for The Reeling, a festival that shares the same spirit.' Deirdre Curley, one of The Park Bar's new owners, added: 'The Park Bar has always been the beating heart of traditional Scottish music and culture in Glasgow, so we're thrilled to be part of The Reeling – the city's biggest outdoor traditional music festival. 'One of our legendary resident bands, Carmichael's Ceilidh, will be performing on The Park Bar Stage on Friday night, bringing their amazing ceilidh tunes to the crowds. 'It's also fantastic to see huge acts like Tide Lines, who cut their teeth at The Park Bar, headlining the main stage. 'Traditional music runs deep in Scotland's soul – and it's being reclaimed by a new generation. It's not just surviving; it's thriving and evolving. We're proud to celebrate that, and we can't wait!' 4 The full line up for next month's The Reeling festival Throughout the weekend, festival-goers can also enjoy a range of cocktails at The Park Bar Stage, including signature serves from sponsor Deanston Distillery like the Deanston Strawberries and Cream. This year marks the first-ever three-day edition of the festival, promising an incredible lineup including Talisk, RURA, Dougie MacLean, Shooglenifty, Eddi Reader, Breabach, and a host of rising and established stars across both stages. Elsewhere much of the UK hovered between 0C and 3C. But the turn in weather is just the beginning, with forecasters warning of possible thunderstorms coming in over the weekend. While it is mainly scattered showers, some storms may develop across northwest England and southwest Scotland. The rainy weather will gradually spread across the nation on Saturday, with Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday likely seeing both sunshine and showers. Deputy Chief Meteorologist Mark Sidaway explained: 'The high pressure that has been around for the last few weeks will slowly lose its grip on the UK this week, bringing a change to more unsettled conditions with many areas seeing rain or showers, ending the prolonged dry spell. 'The change comes this weekend, with weather systems moving in from the Atlantic, arriving from the west probably later on Friday and through Saturday. "They will bring with them spells of rain, which may be heavy at times, with a risk of strong winds in places. "These conditions will gradually spread across the UK on Saturday, with Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday likely seeing sunshine and showers. 'So, whilst the bank holiday won't be a complete washout, with some sunshine expected, this weekend represents a notable shift from the fine and settled weather pattern that has dominated so far this month.' UK could be hit by tornado, Met Office warns as thunderstorms & heavy rain bring end to dry spell – check areas at risk Today's forecast will see sunny spells across much of the UK, with temperature highs of 22C in the West Midlands. Figures will also hover at around 19C in the south east by the afternoon. Elsewhere, Northern Ireland will be hit by downpours but the mercury will reach highs of 15C. Met Office meteorologist Clare Nasir said: "It's a fine day, with a chilly start. Temperatures plummeted overnight even with a touch of frost and an a keen breeze alone the eastern strip. RETAIL SALES JUMP IN APRIL AS SUNNY WEATHER BOOSTS FOOD SHOPPING By Henry Saker-Clark, PA Deputy Business Editor Sales rose for UK retailers last month as warmer weather helped drive stronger demand for food and drink, according to official figures. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) said overall retail sales volumes increased by 1.2% in April. This compared with a 0.1% rise in March, which was revised down from a previous estimate of 0.4% for the month. April's retail sales growth surpassed expectations, with analysts having predicted a 0.4% increase. The ONS said the latest increase means growth over the past three months has been the "largest in nearly four years" despite concerns over pressure on consumer budgets. It comes as official data continues to show that wages - which rose 5.6% in the three months to March - are outpacing inflation, the increase in goods and services. ONS senior statistician Hannah Finselbach said: "Sunny skies and warm temperatures helped boost retail sales in April with strong trading across most sectors. "After a poor couple of months, food sales bounced back with supermarkets reporting robust sales, while it was also a positive month for butchers and bakers, alcohol and tobacco stores. "Conversely, after a good March, clothing sales fell this month, although it was a brighter picture for department stores and household good shops whose sales grew." "For most it's a dry morning with some lovely sunshine coming through - make the most of it. "It will all change into the weekend and you can see that change coming in across the Republic of Ireland through, through the afternoon thickening cloud which extends towards Northern Ireland through mid-afternoon with the rain hot on it's heels. "Elsewhere it's a dry end to the day although you may find more clouds across the Irish Sea coast and western fringe of Scotland as we head into the evening. "Temperatures then 22C in the sunshine, 15C to 17C along the east coast and for Belfast. "Through Friday night into Saturday morning that's when we'll see the rain making inroads eastwards. "The winds then pick up on Saturday with blustery showers to follow. "Winds strengthen even further into Sunday with again a lot of showers, particularly across western Scotland and Northern Ireland. "We'll see a strong wind, touching gale force in places towards the far north west with lots of showers in the mix. But further south and east there's some fine weather rather than blustery. "With temperatures reaching 21C but only 14C towards the west. "It's a windy start to next week again with showers." It follows the driest start to the season in nearly six decades. This comes as beachgoers were recently stunned by a sudden twister in Pembrokeshire, Wales last week. The viral clip shared on Instagram showed towels, bags and sunhats swept up into the air as the narrow funnel whipped through the beach. While such occurrences are rare they do happen with a dust devil spotted in Manchester city centre just last week.

Primark launches exciting new service at ALL Scottish stores today – and shoppers will love it

PRIMARK is adding a new service to all its Scottish stores today - and shoppers will love it. The bargain fashion and homeware brand is finally rolling out Click and Collect to the 21 branches across Scotland. Advertisement 3 Scottish Primark stores are finally getting Click and Collect Credit: Tom Farmer 3 It's exciting news for shoppers Credit: Les Gallagher 3 Click and Collect will be available at all 21 Primark stores in Scotland Credit: Primark Click and Collect lets fashion fans order clothes from the budget fashion brand online and then pick them up in-store. As well as offering the convenience of ordering wherever and whenever, the service gives people the chance to get their hands on ranges and collections typically only found in Primark's larger stores. Whether that's its popular Paula Echevarria collection, 100% linen outfits from The Primark Edit or pieces from its adaptive clothing range, Click and Collect brings more of Primark to more people. So if you've been struggling to hunt down a viral buy in your local Primark or you're sick of scouring the rails for your size, it could be a godsend. Advertisement The move also means that shoppers at the UK's smallest Primark, in Hamilton, will have access to more than three times the in-store range, with more than 5,000 products available via Click and Collect. Primark's Click and Collect first launched as part of a trial in November 2022 and has proved popular amongst shoppers down south. But until this point, people in Scotland were missing out. Now, lovers of the brand will be able to shop a range of lines including women's, men's, kids clothing and homeware. Advertisement Another eight branches in England have also launched Click and Collect which marks the completion of the rollout across 187 stores in England, Wales and Scotland. Kari Rodgers, UK Retail Director at Primark, said: 'From the moment we launched Click & Collect, we've heard from our customers that it's made shopping with us even easier. Fashion fans 'need' Primark's new £14 linen trousers - there's two colours to choose from and they're great for spring "We know our customers in Scotland have been patiently waiting for the service to come to them, and I'm delighted that the wait is finally over. "From today, shoppers can check out online and pick up in person at any of our 21 Scottish stores, making it easier than ever to grab all their holiday essentials ahead of summer.' Advertisement Primark's Click and Collect service is just one of the ways Primark is giving Scottish shoppers more convenience, choice and reasons to visit their local high street. The retailer's first store in Scotland was in Hamilton, opening in 1975 – making it one of the first Primark stores in the UK. Today, Primark has 21 stores in Scotland spanning over 700,000 sq ft of retail space and employing more than 2,300 colleagues. It opened its latest Scottish store last December, at Glasgow Fort, while at the same time introducing its WornWell vintage clothing concession to its store on Argyle Street, also in Glasgow. Advertisement How does Primark's click and collect service work? The service works very similar to online shopping, but instead of getting the items dropped off at your home, you pick them up in-store. Primark has over 3,000 products available to shop via its website, including menswear and homeware. To place an order select a click and collect store, choose the size of your items to add to your bag and head to the checkout. Advertisement You can also select a date you would like to visit the store to pick the item up. Click and collect can be cheaper than a home delivery as many retailers do not charge a fee for the service. It is always worth looking online to see if your retailer has the option, but make it is at a store which is close to you.
