'Hamilton' original cast members to reunite for Tony Awards performance
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the hit Broadway musical. The original cast of " Hamilton" is not throwing away their shot to celebrate the show's 10th anniversary. Members of the original cast of the hit Broadway musical will be reuniting for a special performance at the 78th Annual Tony Awards next month. Among the cast members participating are creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, Leslie Odom Jr., Daveed Diggs, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Jonathan Groff, Christopher Jackson, Phillipa Soo and Jasmine Cephas Jones. Hamilton officially opened on Broadway on Aug. 6, 2015. At the 70th Annual Tony Awards on June 12, 2016, the show made history with a record-breaking 16 nominations and 11 wins, including best musical. This fall, Odom Jr. is returning to the stage production in the role of Aaron Burr for a limited run, in honor of the show's milestone anniversary. The 78th Tony Awards, hosted by Cynthia Erivo, are set to air live from Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Sunday, June 8, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Actor and singer Leslie Odom Jr. will perform alongside the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra. In December 2025, Odom will join the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra for his Christmas tour. Although the performance is still some time away, fans can prepare well in advance for the show. At 17, he made his Broadway debut in the original production of 'Rent' in 1998. In 2016, Odom won his first Tony Award for his performance in the Broadway musical 'Hamilton,' which he will return to later this year. He has also received several Grammy Awards and has been nominated for multiple Emmys and Academy Awards. Odom is just one win away from achieving EGOT status. The actor, among the founding fathers of the musical itself, will return to his role as constitutional framer Aaron Burr starting in September, he revealed in a Monday appearance on the "Today" show. A brief stint in his most defining character, Odom will embody the former vice president for just 12 weeks. "You don't get shows that run 10 years," Odom told host Savannah Guthrie, remarking on the longevity of "Hamilton" as a Theatre District favorite. "There's a lot of shows we love, great shows, that you know they come and they go. That's the nature of the theater." "I knew how I felt about it, but I could not imagine that you (the audience) would feel the way that I did," he said of its enduring success, adding that the show's release for streaming on Disney+ during the pandemic added a whole new legion of young fans. Audiences can see Odom in the role of Burr at the Richard Rodgers Theatre starting Sept. 9 through Nov. 23.
